[Asus Eee PC 900] as replacement for legacy BRI phone
Hello, I own one of these netbooks Asus Eee PC 900, mine is running FreeBSD 7.0, and a Linux based cellphone, the OpenMoko Freerunner. Since some time I'm thinking in a replacement of my 'normal' BRI phone at home and the two items mentioned above let me think that the replacement should be UNIX based as well. The legacy BRI phone, around ten years old, even has more or less the same size as the Eee PC 900...

R on Mobile Devices (Android)
Hell R-list, At the cost of sounding far-fetched and almost incredulous, I would like to know if any R user is remotely considering the use of R on Mobile devices, and Android in particular. I really do not have an idea of the kind of definite incentives in terms of using R on Android, but having an analytical engine on a mobile phone would allow for micro statistics to be collected from the log

[OT] Small touch screens that works with CentOS
Hi, We want to display on a small LCD screen next to our meeting rooms and optionally let people book the room from the panel. We looked at different providers and those solutions either works with Exchange or Lotus Notes... Since I already have code to fetch events from any CalDAV/WebDSV servers, I'm looking at building the system myself. So I'm wondering if any of you can recommend

[fdo] Global architecture ?
Hello, I'm working on an Openmoko FreeRunner where I'm supposed to use the GPS module. I just have a question about the global architecture concerning the different layers from the hardware to the final GPS application. I'm using ogpsd, fso-gpsd, etc. What is "Gypsy" then ? Is this scheme correct : hardware <...

Hello All. Could anybody help me with one question about CELT? I develop one project based on ARM7TDMI or Cortex C3 core. Can i use CELT with 32kHz and 48kB on these fixed point cores? Or it`s need to transfer project to Blackfin core (but it isn`t convenient to me)? With best regards, Alexey Voroshen.

any help with pyogg and pyvorbis?
Dear List, I'm just creating a little application for my openmoko freerunner, unfortunately in python, so that I have to use pyogg and pyvorbis(http://ekyo.nerim.net/software/pyogg/index.html) as wrappers around the C-functions and objects. I've got it all installed, after applying some patches and trying to run an example of encoding a wave-file I just g...

Variable frame size and API changes
Hi everyone, I've recently been making various changes to the way the modes work and the supported frame size. On new feature that may be of interest to some is that CELT should soon support changing the frame size dynamically within a stream. By that I mean varying the amount of audio (in time) transmitted at once, not the compressed size -- which has always been variable. That would
