PSTN gateway implementation?
Hello, I need help in creating a simple PSTN Gateway. This is the scenario: -I have one client sending me VoIP traffic (they don't have asterisk, so IAX is out of the picture for me) and I need to validate that traffic (only accept calls coming from his IP). After that I would terminate the calls to the PSTN network and keep logs for billing purposes. -I have a TE405P board and

Madwifi just seems to work in Centos 5
I have not installed the madwifi specific kernel stuff (kdml and hal-kdml) from atrpms. I have installed with wpa rpms. And my Atheros card is working with almost no work on my part (other than runing wpa_supplicant as a deamon). Nice!

Speex & openh323
hi, I'm currently trying to use Speex with Asterisk from my OpenH.323 client. It seems to mismatch the codecs, below is my log from Asterisk. My Openh323 client crashes in responding to a Speex request for bits per frame. I'm guessing it either isn't running the codec correctly or doesn't support the same subset of speex codecs as openh323. (I'm using speex-1.0.1 with

CVS File README.mysql concern..
Just looking at the README.mysql file in the CVS.. It contains this line.. "We will, where appropriate, make it available via a separate package which will only be usable when Asterisk is used completely within GPL (i.e. not in conjunction with G.729, OpenH.323, etc)." Does this mean that if G.729 licences are installed and used then the MySQL functions can't be used?? This is

What combination of pwlib and openh323 are required to get Asterisk-oh323 v0.7.1 to compile
Hi there I have Asterisk running beautifully on our test server. Over the past few days I have been tearing my hair out trying to compile various versions of asterisk-oh323 on various versions of pwlib and openh323. pwlib is now up to 1.8.3 and openh323 is now 1.15.2 stable. asterisk-oh323 is currently 0.7.1 I have tried these three with many errors. I have tried 0.7.1 with pwlib 1.5.2 and

What combination of pwlib and openh323 are
Hi Mark Funny you should ask this question, I just spent yesterday integrating building asterisk with h323 support to connect to a Cisco call agent.....I cant say if it will work for you but it compiles and loads nicely ! I will be testing this evening.... # cd /root # wget http://www.voxgratia.org/releases/pwlib-Pandora_release-src-tar.gz # wget

H323 in Asterisk
Out of the box it is not supported exactly. You do have to compile openh-323 and then there is a openh323-driver for asterisk that must be compiled. I have the steps at work and if you need any more help let me know. If you read the Readme files in the tarballs you will see how to do it. I know htat sounds like a blow off or a rtfm but really this is how I got it working with some help from the

AG-468 4xFXS - my personal review
For those of you who wanted to know how the AG-468 (4xFXS) unit work (or it doesn't work), here is my personal experience. I had a problem from the start. The units ship from the factory set to static IP 192.168.1.200 even though it has a DHCP option in LAN Setting. So if you are on a different sub-net you have to figure out how to set your sub-net to access the unit; and those with less

addons 1.4 and cdr_addon_mysql not installed !
So, after reading this, I wonder if anyone has 1.4 and MySQL working... Is there a non-standard version I can download? more /usr/src/asterisk-1.4.0/doc/mysql.txt MYSQL LICENSING UPDATE ====================== We were recently contacted by MySQL and informed that the MySQL client libraries are now under GPL license and not LGPL license as before. hardware clock drift and CDR
Hi, I've noticed that one of my new servers (new mobo) if drifting slowly backwards in time (in aprox. 24 hours, system time drifts back 5 minutes). I have an ntpd process which is supposed to sync with a lan time server but it's not quite working. So I'm launching a manual ntpdate or ntp-client once an hour and that seems to work. However, suppose I update system time at every hour

Working Clients for Linux?
All the clients that I'm aware of for IP telephony have drawbacks. Some won't work at all. KPHONE -- Kphone works best for me, but Kphone doesn't have a dialpad to dial tones during the middle of the call, so the demo that * comes with can't be run. Kphone (3.1, the latest) also has a habit of crashing if you do something even mildly stressful, such as hang up while Kphone is

Subject: Re: What combination of pwlib and openh323 are required to get Asterisk-oh323 v0.7.1 to compile
Thanks Vamsi I have not been able to locate pwlib - 1.6.6 or openh323 1_13_5. I found the latest versions through sourceforge and I found some older versions on another site, but not these versions. This has been quite frustrating. Anyway, I think by using the asterisk-oh323 branch under channels in the asterisk source tree I will have more luck. At present it seems to compile successfully, but
