I'm trying to get this program to function properly with wine. The program is used to calculate the detection levels of a sonar in various conditions. It runs fine, but the File menu is a bit bugged. After i openend a menu item and move over the menu items, the menu hangs. And the weird thing is i can move the main window, which leaves the menu window floating around. I found many questions but no answers on the web. I described my needs in earlier post, but now switched from security = domain to security = server, and designated the AD domain server as the password server. It works as desired, i.e. I don't need smbpasswd any more, and if windows users change their passwords by ctrl-alt-del, they can later use the new password without coming to admins.

Hi all, Just out of curiosity: is there anything we can do, on the samba side, to counter the recent ransomware attacks? (or limit the damage done) I'm thinking like: limit the number of files per second a client (workstation) is allowed to edit, or some other smart tricks..? It would be nice if samba could be an extra layer of defense. Something perhaps a vfs module could help with..?
