Name mangling problem
...first 5 as i expect.
For example:
if the long file name is LONGFILENAME.TXT, i expect the mangled sholud
be something like LONGF~01.TXT, but i see: LNHQX6~C.TXT
I tried to change mangling method = hash (instead of the default hash2)
also i tried the solution posted here:
http://www.oreilly.com/openbook/samba/book/ch05_04.html
but no luck.
The the share are on XFS filesystem and use the following vfs
extensions:
vfs objects = acl_xattr, recycle enabled on the share.
I'm crossing some bug? or is this a misconfiguration?
Please help

The Server was running fine until tomorrow morning...
My problem is that i have no idea where to begin my search for a solution.
The Server is used as a Primary Domain Controller and worked just fine.

Please criticize my smb.conf
...username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
# add these if winbind is running
idmap config * : backend = tdb
idmap config * : range = 1000000-1999999
You seem to be running a standalone server, so don't need winbind, so
don't need the above.

I basically changed the ownership of the /var/log/omega directory to
the current user using:
sudo chown `whoami` /var/log/omega

Configuration files inside SQLite3
Hello all,
Is it possible to store, read and write configuration files in an SQLite3
database instead of using the configuration files inside the /etc/asterisk/
directory? If it is then can you point me to the right documentation on how
to do this or probably hints on how to do this?
Thank you in advance.

Ok, got it. I was initially under the impression that we needed a new
Omegascript command to enable opening a webpage given a url.

Thanks, I found that link very helpful. Great book on CGI programming.

Underground Asterisk Command Set?
Hi People!
Is there an underground asterisk command reference
manual that the Gurus here share amongst themselves
only? :-)
The reason I ask is that sometimes I see mention of an
asterisk command and I scramble for my asterisk book
(pdf) to look it up but can't find it in there. For
example, I saw here last week people talking about the
Set() application with the "If" conditional

Printers, aka an old time sysadmin
Well, today, I feel like a real, old time sysadmin. Now, I didn't have to
write a driver in assembly for the printer, but....
We got this huge, 44" HP Designjet z3200ps printer. Only supports Win and
Mac. Fine, I hang it off of one of our servers on a subnet (at $0.96/foot
paper, we're the only ones who print on it....). Then I'm thinking that
all I really need is a .ppd. My

Hi Rowland,
I appreciate the the help! You did exactly what I
ask for, which was to let it rip.
I will have to read over slowly several times. Be nice
to disable winbind too.

ChillDB License
A few of you sounded interested in using it. I haven''t explicitly put a software license on it, so I guess it''s not technically FOSS yet. What licenses are good? BSD? Public Domain?
?
