(not necessarily R-related) help with data presentation
...monstrate the coverage of particular countries in a news service. Does anyone have any idea of how to approach this? I don't think there is any software or anything that could do it, but I would be more than happy to hear a couple of ideas/intuitions as to how to tackle this.

...their filenames...). Another question related to
the topic is whether it is possible to use postscript character names as
escape sequences for particular characters within a string instead of using
\xxx for ascii code?
I would be very greatful if anyone could help me.

plotting dendrograms from cluster analyses
Hi all,
I have a bit of a newbie question here that I hope y'all can help with. I've
run a cluster analysis using hclust on about 500 objects (using R1.3 under
Win 2000). The problem is that the tips of the dendrogram are so close
together on the plot that the labels overlap and are unreadable. I've used
"cex" to reduce the label sizes but this isn't sufficient with so
