Question about updates
Hallo,
as a beginner using centos I?ve a question about updates.
What it the right repo for getting all security and other updates?
http://mirror.eu.oneandone.net/linux/distributions/centos/7.6.1810/updates/
for example?
Thanks

yum causing RPC timed out?
I just installed centos 7, yum is acting strange, experiencing RPC
time-outs. Sometimes when I disable the additional repos (epel and
rpmforge) it seems to make things act normal. But not this time (see below).
Could I have some misconfiguration? Network glitch? What hypotheses should
I be considering?
Thanks,
Dave

If you have installed CentOS 7 it should have everything in place for
regular updates.
You simply need to invoke "sudo yum update" on a regular basis to ensure
all the available updates are installed. Yum and rpm take...

way to disable keyboard and mouse ports
Is there a way to disable the keyboard and mouse ports?
I have a machine in a public area running an application
that no-one needs to touch.
However, someone could come up and plug a keyboard in
it and mouse and be logged in as that user (not root).
Is there a way to disable the mouse and keyboard so
only remote ssh connections will control the PC if
changes need to be made.

How to select a motherboard
Not being familiar with chip sets and other factors that "hardware
experts" understand, I am perplexed with the multitude of available
motherboards. Is there a Web site that can be of help or a "strategy"?
