DOS to UNIX Conversion
On 17 May 99, Axel Neumann <amn@cromemco.com> had questions about
DOS to UNIX Conversion:

Maybe that's because the M$ "solutions" are crap, and much better
alternatives already exist.

...same workgroup. Our network is subnetted here, so
this poses the problem. If I understood what the book was explaining, then
I should have a Samba server as a local browser in each subnet? Isn't a
WINS server supposed to solve this?
Thanks

why does Samba take over as pdc is n
...O..
even at
that, I guess the Samba machine was still winning the vote even
though
everything was disabled. Then I tried os level = 0 - this seems
to have
worked. Well the network browselist isn't being upset every 12
minutes now
:)

Hello fellow Samba users,
My question is, why does one of my Samba servers take on the role of PDC
when
either NT crashes ( the nice thing about MS OS) or if I have reboot?...

Permissions
Hi Group,
I set up samba3.0 to work as ADS-Member-Server.
I created a share called /test and chown group to gg_test to it.
Access to share works without any problems. I also can add files and
directories to this share.
When I now make ln -l, the files I added got the group-permissions "Domain
Users" and not gg_test, as I expected.
Do someone know a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Best Printer Setup
...). I was looking at a printcap
example and saw the rp=raw and rm=IPAddress options added. I am assuming
that the rm is the remote printers IP address and it wants the data as raw.
Any ideas or examples would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks.
