How go back from X.Y-RELEASE-pZ to X.Y-RELEASE?
...not an option, and I don't want to upgrade to a newer RELEASE at the moment. Can I change the cvs tags to RELENG_8_3_0_RELEASE or RELENG_9_0_0_RELEASE, and then build/install world and kernel as usual? Or will that method cause problems for the system or the installed ports? Or prehaps there is already a configuration setting for tweaking this behavior? /John -- John Olsson Ericsson AB GSM BSC/BSS System Management

Adding another copy and both transfers proceed very quickly. The client machines are Macs with recent OSX, and a Windows laptop. Same behavior. Transferring file to local machine when SSHing into a foreign box
One can log into a remote shell via SSH, and one can use an FTP application to log in via SFTP using the same credentials over SSH. Why then, can one not initiate a file transfer from the remote host to the local host when logged into a shell via SSH? I know that I could use scp or rsync to move the files, but the requires authenticating which is not something that I can always do from the host.
