International characters
...haracters ?, ?, and ? (or ?, ?,
?)[these are swedish charactera a a and o, A, A with umlaut characters
above] I get a problem: the show up on the screen as a question mark [?]
Does not UTF-8 take care of this?
How do I adjust the .rhtml files to show Swedish characters?
Thanks in advance!

Ticket/Issue support system
...ly can add support issues.
We also need to administer the issues (assign to developer/support
person), schedule, and list issues (tickets).
I have found SimpleTickets, which seems to be a good alternative, but I
would like to know if any one else out there is developing something.
Cheers,

hope to do a more full-bodied web-side client.
The database has a lot of tables, and the naming convention of course

Can anyone recommend a tutorial on how to tackle this issue?

Interpretation of hypothesis tests for mixed models

but what is the logic behind fm1?
I have looked in Venables & Ripley (2002) and Pinheiro & Bates (2000),
but neither of these excellent books seems to explain how or whether
models like fm1 and fm2 differ.

Win95 and wsock32.dll...
...nection or that wsock32.dll is not available? Samba as
well as email works fine and I did not have this problem with Win98 clients. The
clients I am talking about use older versions of Win95. Earlier they ran as
PC-NFS clients, which I think may have something to do with it.
Thanks in advance,
Olof

I recently downloaded a standalone package of rails, release 0.12.1

should I copy them?
I hope you can help me!

NT logon problem
...ed.
Access denied.
The NT box is setup as a server, though only used as an ftp-server. Samba
recognizes the NT server. Being a Unix guy myself, I don't recognize all the
weird services that can be found in the network configuration ;). Another NT box
which is not a server works fine.
TIA,
Olof

tried but never got it working properly, lots of rpc errors. smb.conf is
set up to point to the scripts and it works fine from a unix terminal.
- Are there other better (graphical) tools (usable under windows) one
can use for this task?
Thanks for your input here,

Swedish characters problem
Hello,
I''m playing around with Rails and I''m having problems with displaying

I have a controller...

SMBMount and backup application
I would like some advice. I am considering the best way to restructure my
backup scheme on my NT network. I would like to see if it would be
possible/feasible to use cron, smbmount, some SCSI tape drives, and some type
of archive tool to backup my NT shares to a RedHat box using Samba. What do
all of you do out there? I would envision a situation where each night a
script is run by cron that

Two other users have contacted me regarding my earlier, unanswered posts

Can anyone give me some directions?

no one cares about i18n (was [OT]: Asking questions on this list)
Do most others in the community agree with this statement? It seems to me
that i18n is:
1. Actually important to many people
2. Not really the difficult to implement in concept
3. Something that people like to point out about Rails to say it''s not
ready foir "Enterprise"
It seems to be that a big part of Rails is encouraging people to do things
the "Right Way",
