unexpected delivery location
Hi,
We're running dovecot 2.2.13, virtual users, with postfix. We have an
olddomain and a new domainname. To 'translate' *@olddomain into
*@newdomain, I have configured:
> cat /etc/postfix/canonical
> @olddomain.com @newdomain.com
While this seems to work, lately we have noticed that dovecot
occasionally creates mailboxes for non-existent users, like:

Hah. Fair enough. Unfortunately yes, your fear has been realised, the
domain & workgroup for both are the same. I've now put in a new domain
& workgroup, hereinafter referred to as NEWDOMAIN and NEWWORKGROUP
respectively, and the old names would be OLDDOMAIN and OLDWORKGROUP.
I've updated the following files to reflect the new domain & workgroup
names - let me know if I've missed something:
- /etc/hosts
- /etc/resolv.conf
- Provisioned new domain using samba-tool (note, couldn't find how to
delete an old domain, so I'm dangero...

Slow directory listing after adding new trusted domain to current forest
We have an ubuntu 14.04 server running samba 4.1.6 that is a member of our
OLDDOMAIN. We recently added a new trusted domain to our forest. We
noticed any new directories created by users in that new domain take a long
time for the directory to list in the command line.
This does not seem to happen when listing the directories with only
user/group ID:

Per-user sieve_before settings?

My first approach using a single, big filter file somewhat works, but it
is not optimal.
I am currently setting sieve_before = /var/vmail/autoreply.sieve, and it
that file I have something as:

{
redirect "aaa at newdomain.com";
stop;
}
if header :contains "to" "bbb at olddomain.com"
{

}

I know that this is an old version, but we can't simply switch them to the
most current dovecot release without preparing and testing everything...
So I'm rather asking for help with debugging the case :)
This person has email my.name at olddomain.pl.
However, they are switching to new domain - newdomain.pl - and it is
becoming their main brand. So temporarily olddomain.pl is still their
"home" domain, but there is a domain alias newdomain->olddomain.

Tuning the performance of Samba over LAN network to improve I/O performance
Hello friends,
I am trying to test NAS I/O performance over a network and trying to see the
numbers for write and read speed. I have successfully configured and ran a
lot of tests. However the numbers have not increased, I have reached a
bottleneck.
I tried playing around with the smb.conf file including all possible
variations like,
socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=(tried values like

NS Question
...er in certain company, for
hosting my site and some other sites, didn't work at all the plan I
had, nevertheless I was using Redhat 9 or something related to redhat,
and using plesk as a control panel at that time, i was able to
configure two dns servers on that box using the web interface,
ns1.olddomain.com and ns2.olddomain.com using two public different IP
addresses (201.56.xx.84, 201.56.xx.86), but now i want to do it
without using plesk or even a control panel, now can i do this using
CentOS?
Maybe a tutorial, a howto could help me do the job, i am trying to

doveadm-sync stateful
Hello,
I'm trying to migrate mail accounts from an old server to a new one.
As I need to migrate dozens of accounts which take about 1G each, I need
to do stateful sync to make my migration in two times :
1 - I run a :
doveadm -D -o mail_fsync=never -o imapc_user=user1 at olddomain.fr
sync -s "" -R -1 -u user1 at newdomain.fr imapc: > /tmp/firstsync.log 2>&1
my accounts are synced, and I get a "state" string (AQAAAHm4+Jk=) as the
output of doveadm sync command.
2 - Changes are made on the old server, and I expect next dsync will
sync only th...

Demote old NT4 PDC to member of Samba domain?
...a PDC in a new domain. Now I would like
the old NT4 PDC in the old domain to become a plain host in my Samba
domain. Is this possible? I need to keep the old NT4 machine because
it's running the Symantec Corporate Edition NAV.
In other words, I have
NEWDOMAIN with Samba PDC and all clients
OLDDOMAIN with NT4 PDC alone, no client
Can my NT4 PDC become a plain client in NEWDOMAIN?
Thanks,

Winbind problem

problem
I almost have this.
I have read the docs, I have read this, I have purchased both books from the
samba team, and I cannot find any help from any of these.
We are trying to migrate from OLDDOMAIN (an NT4 Domain) to NEWDOMAIN (our
Win2k3 Domain). I have a two way trust right now between the domains. I have
everything configured as per the docs as far as smb.conf, krb5.conf and
nsswitch. I do:
Code:
# wbinfo -t
checking the trust secret via RPC calls succeeded
so everything looks good the...

Samba not providing the right encryption in Kerberos
Hi,
I have a domain with 3 DCs running 4.11.8. The database itself dates back to Samba3 and has been gradually updates over the years.
When I check out a ticket I get the following results from klist -e

With "translate" I mean that olddomain should be treated as if it were
newdomain. No translation, but more like an alias.

Change Netbios name during classicupgrade?
...the solution, but i get
improvements, thanks to it.
For now, whatever i can do to change the workgroup, It changes the
Domain SID.
Actually it's more subtle;
Before change workgroup:
#net getdomainsid
SID for local machine AD is: S-1-5-21-673913221-4242741474-1014044216
SID for domain OLDDOMAIN.LAN is: S-1-5-21-1905493267-1041818301-753029000
After change workgroup:
#net getdomainsid
SID for local machine AD is: S-1-5-21-673913221-4242741474-1014044216
SID for domain NEWDOMAIN is: S-1-5-21-673913221-4242741474-1014044216
It sets domainsid to the same than localsid (And again it doesnt...

Cloning the samba+openldap pdc server for use in another network
.... Is it possible just to change the domain name of new cloned pdc? If so
what is the most convinient way to do this? As I guess a lot of
configuration files should be changed for the domain name parameters, but I
do not know what files actually should be changed, I edited all the files
that contain olddomain name in /etc directory and changed olddomain name to
newdomain by using grep and sed. But it did not work. I'm very new to
openldap and to ldap itself so I don't know whether I'm on a right way or
not. Seached on the internet but could not fond anything usefull. May be I'm
