...later went away. The best strategy is to run samba startups from your system startups which typically run from /; if users cannot read / you have more problems than just samba. Or have a startup script that explicitly cd's somewhere safe and permanently visible like /tmp. Hope this helps! I was wondering if anyone has been able to get DoW Soulstorm Running on their Wine. I've looked at several forum lines, and no one seems to have been able to crack it yet. From what i've gathered, the reason it wont work is because of the cd check. If i were able to crack the game so it didnt check for the cd, would it work then? Hi, I have an exsiting Ubuntu install on a USB thumb-drive which uses GRUB2 as a bootloader. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace GRUB with SYSLINUX and if so, is there a step-by-step guide available anywhere? Anything I find on Google seems to be geared towards creating a bootable drives from scratch as opposed to replacing the bootloader on an existing install, can this be done ?
