Call for comments: OggUVS
Hi all,
I'm soliciting comments on OggUVS, a proposed method of encapsulating
uncompressed video in Ogg files. Please have a look at:
http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggUVS
First note, on the supported colorspaces: I know they're lacking. Had a
good conversation with derf_ about it last night, and when I get some
time I'll add...

Fwd: final changes to mimetypes rfc
...n yuv4mpeg will have the magic number: char[8]: 'YUV4MPEG'.
Which was previously for those not paying attention char[9]: 'YUV4MPEG2'.

AFAIK, that is just a matter of putting a [[OggUVS]] in there. At
least that's what I reckon to be the spec for YUV4MPEG encapsulation.

Proposal: An extension to rules all others
...iles.
So, this is what I suggest:
Vorbis: .ogg & .vorbis
Theora: .ogg & .theora (or .video as I've seen suggested several times)
FLAC: .ogg & .flac (yes, I'm fully aware that FLAC can exist without
Ogg, but it's about unity)
Speex: .ogg & .spx
OggPCM: .ogg & .oggpcm
OggUVS: .ogg & .ogguvs
For mixed content of other kinds, like Writ, or crazy combinations of
the above, or external codecs (MPEG 4, whatever), one has accept the
default .ogg only, because it's not possible to state an extension for
every possible use of Ogg. The idea is to allow dual extension...

We have a draft spec with no implementation. I can't imagine the magic
changing, so I think it's ok to leave it in, but I'm ok to remove it
if you think that's best.
I do think there's little
