Mapping CLI'S in Dialplan
...sers can dial each other on the extension number an also has an external CLI mapped to them. On all internal calls or calls to services such as call forwarding their Caller ID is: Name <XXXX> What I would like to have happen is have the Caller ID changed to the CLI only when they make an offnet call. So what I am saying is I need to match an extension to a CLI and reset the Caller ID. Many Thanks SP -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... TLS/TCP behind NAT; Signaling issues with offnet phones
Issue is what subject says. Here is the background. Version: 11.11.0 Topology: Asterisk Box at our Data Center behind Cisco Firewall. Everything works fine from remote offices over a VPN. Issue is sales team would like to connect up to our Asterisk box remotely (offnet). Common enough solution, I'm guessing. So, I've opened all the correct holes on the firewall and hammered out inspection with Cisco. UDP transport works like a champ, but obviously we are sending SIP across as clear text when they are on wireless outside the office. I know TLS/SRTP isn...

how does autofs deal with stuck NFS mounts and suspending to RAM?
Hi, after trying sshfs to mount a remote file system on a server with the result that sshfs will sooner or later get stuck and require a reboot of the client, I'm fed up with it and am looking for alternatives. So next I would like to use NFS over a VPN connection instead. To minimize the instances of the NFS mount getting stuck, it might be helpful to use autofs. What happens when the

Match a Numer - then continue with dialplan
Anyone know if there's a way to match a dialplan extension, execute some code, say set a variable, and then continue with the dialplan? I want to set a variable when the dialplan flows beyond a certain context. This would be a great feature. Doug.

Stuck. Extenions.conf? Realtime? MySQL? Grrrrr!
...xample, 1* might be 1123, 1303* might be something else, and 130* might be another pic code. Throw in findme/followme with caller id based routing, multiple numbers per dial (easy in Asterisk but the MySQL tables start to get complex - actually not that easy if you want to dial a local user AND an OffNet user at the SAME time with redundancy). While we're at it, write the application generic enough so that it can handle Queues, voicemail and everything else. My brain hurts. Doug

If you need more info, I'd be happy to go offnet with it. Sam -- Snowman

Avaya Partner ACS system, pre 7.0
Hi all, I've got an old avaya partner acs <7.0 system here. I'd like to add a simple voip bridge so I can hook up our remote offices. From my research, it would seem the pre-7.0 series doesn't have a t1 port, so if I wanted to do this, I would have to feed the avaya system fxs ports from the asterisk box. Does that sound about right? Has anybody ever done this? Does

Asterisk Sends 180-RINGINGto UAeven withprogressinband=yes
Hmmm. Ok, that's true. At the very least it will create confusing CDR's I think... maybe. We're not billing our OnNet traffic at all. Only the traffic that goes OffNet, to our switch is billed (if it leaves our switch that is...). I was thinking earlier too that we only need progressinband on traffic that goes to the PSTN, via our switch. OnNet traffic will never generate reorder tones and such. The docs say that progressinband can either go into the general sec...

Nested MySQL Commands
Is it possible to have nested MySQL queries in extensions.conf? Ie, perform a query, grab a value, and then jump to another location in the dialplan and do another query based on that original value. I'm having problems with the result and fetchid's and I'm not sure if it's even possible to do this or not. Thanks, Doug. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

WINS Not Updating When Client Moves Subnet
...t network has several subnets separated at layer 3 with routers and no firewalling is taking place on routers or PCs. Layer 2 separation exists between each subnet. Browsing works fine on the clients. I can ping Samba from every connected subnet. If I add an XP or Win7 client on the same subnet or offnet (compared to Samba) for the first time to the test network Samba WINS updates appropriately. However if I remove an XP or Win7 client from the network and move the client to a different subnet DHCP assigns the correct address but WINS does not update with the new IP. If I run wireshark on the clien...
