panic after zfs mount
...day. One of our mirrored zpool
hosts several ZFS filesystems. After a reboot (all FS mounted at that
time an in use) the machine paniced (console output further down). After
detaching one of the mirrors the pool fortunately imported automatically
in a faulted state without mounting the filesystems. Offling the
unplugged device and clearing the fault allowed us to disable
auto-mounting the filesystems. Going through them one by one all but one
mounted OK. The one again triggered a panic. We left mounting on that
one disabled for now to be back in production after pulling data from
the backup tapes. Sc...

[a bit off-topic] oggenc crashes my K6-200 box
I've noticed that oggenc reliably crashes my K6-200 box after a few minutes of
encoding. Has anyone else experienced crashes like this?
Surely it must be a hardward fault, or perhaps a K6 problem (this processor
has some errata). Still, I'm surprised that nothing else I do with it seems
to hang it.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Re: ogg123
I'm forwarding this on to the Vorbis users list because though it was
initially addressed to me it's not really a problem I can deal with
(though I give a few suggestions and discussion below anyway, of
questionable accuracy).
This was initially from a query to me about ogg123 WAV to stdout, but
upon reply I got this in addition to discussion about WAV outuput, so
I've cut this out

Copy protected CDs (off-topic)
A record company is releasing next month what it calls copy-protected CDs
which apparently cannot be ripped by CD readers. Major labels are waiting
to see how it goes.

Form the vorbis.com homepage:
"Ogg Vorbis does not compromise quality for freedom. Its stunning
quality is coupled with aggressive features like fast bitrate scaling,
surround channels, and fast sample-granularity seek and decode."
This makes me wonder...
-- What is "fast bitrate scaling"?
-- I've never seen anything in the source supporting surround channels.
