HP OfficeJet Printing
...about HP printer capability
in one of our smallest prototyping Labs.? We have a single GigE switch
connecting a Windows 7 machine and a Dell/CentOS-6 machine.? The CentOS
machine also has connectivity via another network.? Currently, only the
Windows 7 machine has been setup for printing on our HP OfficeJet 8615.
Our Samba effort on the CentOS system has not been successful so we use
Cygwin and ftp to move files to the Windows 7 system for printing. Being
able to print directly from the CentOS 6 system would be most convenient.
Software supporting the HP OfficeJet Pro 8615 is apparently available

hp officejet 9130 and samba
we're using an hp officejet 9130 (all in one printer/scanner), wich has
the possibility to store scans on a network share (smb).
path, username and password are checked on a workstation and are ok.
the printer has full access to the network.
unfortunally samba denies access:

Setting up HP OfficeJet 5610 fax on CentOS 4.4 shared
Hi there,
As the subject says, I'm trying to set up an HP OfficeJet 5610 on
CentOS 4.4 for shared use across my machines. I've managed to get
printing (through HPLIP/ CUPS/ SAMBA) and scanning (through SANE)
shared; but I'm unable to get fax shared working.
Is it possible to do that? The instructions on the HPLIP page talk
about installing the 5610 as a fa...

I installed hplip-gui and ran it. The printer is a network printer, it

[kikinovak at alphamule:~] $ host hp-officejet
hp-officejet.microlinux.lan has address 192.168.2.252
When I run hp-setup with the default options, the setup program "sees"
the printer, but informs me that there is a "communication problem". I
figure this is because the default seach method is mDNS/Bonjour. I tried

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello,
I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215
by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I
could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my
printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the
printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes
and scan...

CentOS 4.2 clean install -- can't print to officejet k60
Hello all,
I have a new disk and installed CentOS there but I am unable to print.
I thought the printer was having troubles because from the
/var/log/cups/error_log everything
appears to be working. The printer is not printing however. I
attached the printer to a windoze 98 box and I could print fine. I
had printing on my previous system(FC3) but this isn't working.
If I can't print

HP OfficeJet 6110, Sipura 2102, T.38, and Clarent
I have a Sipura 2102 that I'm trying to do T.38 with a Clarent C5CM. I
figured skipping the Asterisk server and going right to the Clarent would be
best as T.38 is new in Asterisk. However, I can't get the Sipura to link up
with the Clarent. Sipura support is less than responsive.
Note: I set myself up as a Linksys Partner, and have spent hour(s) on the
phone with them, but it

Issue with HP Officejet 6500 on CentOS 5.5
I just picked one of these up to replace my 4315, which broke (I think
the feeder roller gear broke from an overstuffed feeder), but it's
giving me problems.
I had no trouble configuring it to print, but it doesn't appear in
lsusb and xsane can't find it, so I can't scan with it, which is the
main reason I bought it in the first place.
I've tried restarting the autofs service

OT: default password for HP printer
...he installation manual six months
ago and immediately set my own password which I have used since then, so
I no longer remember what the default is. (It's really a longer story
than that, but....) So I was just hoping that someone here might know
what that default password is. Mine is an Officejet Pro 8620, but
perhaps some other, recent HP printer default password would work.
(Yes, I've already tried various versions of "admin", an empty password,
and others, but just not anything which has worked.)

Trying to share HP Officejet 5610 Multi-function
I'm trying to share my HP 5610 on my Samba (3.0.24-1 fc6 x86_64) machine and
am running into a typical HP related SANFU. The XP drivers supplied only
install through the installation program. (ie. I can't use device manager
to point XP to the driver and install it) So I installed the printer on my
XP machine, used the installation program to install the drivers and then
