Checkbox readonly
I declare some checkboxes :
<%= check_box_tag ''offers[]'', offer.id ,
@params[:offers].include?(offer.id.to_s) ,:readonly=>true %>
the result is :
<input checked="checked" id="offers[]" name="offers[]"
readonly="readonly" type="checkbox" value="1" />
But readonly doesn''t work ???

(rfc) too many keys, usecase?
...ug1: Next authentication method: keyboard-interactive
Received disconnect from <remote> port 22:2: Too many authentication failures for root
Yes, I know about MaxAuthTries and I used it as a workaround. Still,
I would imagine the remote server knows there's no point refusing the
slient offered keys one after the other, as none will work. Why then
not telling the client there's no point trying, use password instead?
Cheers,

best practice for object transaction?
I have a new @offer that needs to generate a document if saved. But
that''s all or nothing:
transaction do
@offer.save!
generate_document
end
# handle exceptions if needed
If save! fails everything is fine, but if generate_document raises an
exception @offer is left as a model with timestamps, id, which is not
a new_record? anymore (though the database was

asterisk 13.18.0: pjsip: unnecessary 603 decline because of wrong codec decision
...rovider sends g729 rtp packages
But: there is no license to transcode g729.
What is asterisk doing?
Asterisk decides to stop the call at all:
- Sends cancel to provider and 603 decline to internal caller.
What would have been correct?
It would have been correctly to switch to alaw as provider offered it, too.
Workaround:
My workaround is to disable g729 and things are working fine again for
me (for this special case).
I'm seeing here two basic problems:
1. Asterisk prevents a call which could have been working fine if
asterisk would have done the switch to alaw which is offered by...

Free Redhat Linux (rhel) version 7.2
I read that Redhat was offering their Linux free,
and downloaded the ISO, though I haven't run it.
What do CentOS users think of Redhat's offer?
The registration with Redhat seemed very bureaucratic to me,
and I'm not sure if I have carried it out properly.
Also, I didn't see if it was possible to get updates,
either with dnf or some other way.
I've been (and am) very

Ordering of key offers with "ssh -i"
Hi
Is it expected behaviour that when using "ssh -i", the key specified in the
"-i" option is only sent to the server *after* trying all other keys in ~/.ssh
? I couldn't find anything about this in the manual, and it seems like
surprising behaviour to me. It can be the cause of unexpected failures in some
cases, if a server has MaxAuthTries set to a value which is

(OT) Novell Community Offer; CentOS LUG; VMWare
There was some interest in the IRC channel on the latest
Novell offering to the trade. This is interesting as it
contains a full non-timebombed VMWare instance, in addition to
the Novell technical offerings mentioned in the E-Mail below.
Novell has announced a renewal of their periodic DVD sampler
program -- feel free to indulge.
Additionally, there was a offer some months directly from

Shared Hosting Rails Sites ?
I can''t decide between a2hosting.com, successfulhosting.com, site5.com (which offers 11gb
of disk space for $8.77/month -- I''ll never use it), planetargon.com (which offers 1 gb
for $11/month), or railsplayground.com (which offers a gigabyte practically for free).
Any experiences you''d like to share?
Only a2 and planetargon list their gems on their web sites.

ipconfig and boot filename option
...lem:
The first dhcp request is from the pxe rom boot code. This code
ignores any dhcp offers that don't have a filename field. So they
always get the correct address, from the ltsp server.
The second dhcp request (in initramfs) is done by ipconfig. And here
is the problem, ipconfig accepts any offered addresses, even those
that don't have the filename option. So the clients may get their ip
from the wrong dhcp server (e.g. the adsl router) and fail to boot.
What I'm asking for is a command line option,
that forces ipconfig to ignore all DHCPOFFERs that do not have a
filename option,
so...

Offering streaming services
We're looking at selling streaming services to our customers. Right now,
we sell Real Media services with our hosting plans. But, we're having
more and more requests for a more robust offering. That means more
features and control at a better price.
We need a wholesale provider with infrastructure tuned specifically to
media streaming. We don't care whether it is on dedicated

15-year mortgage rate hits record low
Mortgage rates dropped again this week, with the 15-year fixed-rate loan
hitting a record low, according to a report from mortgage financier
Freddie Mac.
The 15-year fixed rate fell to 2.56% from 2.61%. A year ago, it stood at 3.07.
The most popular mortgage, the 30-year fixed rate, came in at 3.35%, a

CallerID Name with IAX Providers
I am pretty sure that there are no IAX providers that offer CallerID name
but wanted to double check with the list in case something has changed
recently. Is anyone aware of an IAX provider that offers incoming CallerID
name?
Is there a technical limitation within IAX which is preventing IAX providers
from offering CallerID Name? Why is no one offering this?

Current RHEL fragmentation landscape
I subscribe (pay) for a lot of things personally. Music, Movies, Anti
Virus, VPN, Storage, etc.
But for my business, I do not want to pay Red Hat, Zimbra, or Google Workspace.
Why ?
Because the general rule seems to be
Oh! You are an individual, we will offer you affordable/free service
What! You are a business, we will offer you extremely 'unaffordable' service.

Why doesn't Asterisk try to prevent transcoding
Let's say I have two devices configured and the follow call scenarios occur.
[100]
disallow=all
allow=g722&ulaw
Polycom phone with g722,ulaw,alaw,g729
[101]
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
Polycom phone with g722,ulaw,alaw,g729
101 dials 100 -> ulaw to ulaw is chosen
100 dials 101 -> g722 to ulaw is chosen
Ideally when 100 dials 101 ulaw would be chosen since it is the common
format.
