Sort imap e-mail remotely
Hi all, I have a big e-mail box over at my provider. I receive a lot of e-mail every day (over 100), which are distributed into different imap-folders by thunderbird. The problem is that thunderbird must be running (offcourse) to be able to it's job. And for thunderbird to run, my (home)computer must be running. I have a CENTOS 5 server running also. Are there any programs out there that work via command line or as a daemon, that i can use to sort my imap e-mail. I've googled a bit, but didn't come up wit...

blazer & megatec drivers
...there are no "battlow=%" option available in blazer, so, I can't change "Low battery condition" to be a bit more safer... I've seen battery.charge.low option in trunk, but it seems it must be implemented in driver, and it's not implemented in blazer. Am I right ? Offcourse, I can workaround this problem: NOTIFYCMD /usr/local/sbin/check_lowbatt /usr/local/sbin/check_lowbatt uspc myups | grep battery.charge res=$? ... But it's an ugly hack... Is there any better solution ? I missed something ? -- Thanks in advance. Pavel Selivanov

mounting smbfs...
...9;ve been at it for a solid week now....trying to figure out how to mount a smbfs-resource at boot. See i need to do the following; mount -t smbfs //<machine_name>/<share> /home/<usr_name>/music ...only thing is, I have to run the cmd as a regular user. The easiest thing would offcourse be to have i run at when booting, but i don't know how to do that. Any help to get from you guys? Another possibility would be to make the mount-cmd usable by regular users so that they could mount the shares themselves, but this also seems quite near impossible to do. So...any tips/idea?...

Adding memdisk or similar when booting linux
...k to my install enviroment, and when thinking about it, the nice method would be having syslinux create a memdisk which linux could see when starting install, and load its drivers from there. The reason i need a memdisk image (or similar), is since often the driver I need is a network driver, which offcourse is a tad difficult getting from the net _After_ the kernel have taken over. Embedding the initrd would be an option, but would require me to change all install initrd's for every driver I put in my driver disk, and also it would require me to also allways modify new releases with custom initrd...

rsync 2.6.2 --daemon Problem
Hi, I've a problem with rsync 2.6.2 and the daemon. I've installed it precisly as I did with 2.6.0 (I've tried before with 2.6.1 and was having the same problems as now with 2.6.2). When I try to a rsync --daemon command the rsync offcourse finishes, but in the log file it says 2004/05/04 21:15:10 [22369] rsyncd version 2.6.2 starting, listening on port 873 2004/05/04 21:15:10 [22369] rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at socket.c(466) When using rsync just as the client I don't have any problems. Wiki: Standalone server
Happy new year! I know, I was lazy during the last weeks. However I published at least one new guide last night: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Standalone_server I think most of the docs linked on https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/User_Documentation are meanwhile rewritten and a good basis for most of the users. Next I will finally focus on the results of my Samba user survey from last year

...r%\home\%username%\desktop Windows/windows \\hostname.fqdn.tld\users\%username%\desktop Guess, which one i use. ;-) Now, do get where this is coming from. So use this (add CNAME for you member server ), Note, you MUST setup PTR records. \\ALIAS-CNAME.fqdn.tld\users\%username%\desktop And offcourse this is not correct. \\%logonserver%\home\%username%\desktop. You "logon" server = the DC. Not the member. So my advice, setup as suggested, and im sure you never see this again.
