OCFSv2 in a mail cluster environment
Hello, First, thanks to all the people who helped to license this software under the GPL. This is a very important piece of work for the Free Software in the Enterprise Market. Just a few newbie questions. We've been thinking about implmenting a mail cluster with a Fiber SAN (IBM DS-4000) and OCFSv2 as the storage backend. The information on this volume will essentially be Postfix Maildirs, about 20.000 accounts. I've heard some complains about the memory usage and stability problems under some environments. At this time, do you think that OCFSv2 is suitable for this purpose? Should we wa...

OCFSv2 certification dates
Hi, The oss.oracle.com website has the following statement: OCFS2 certification with Oracle 10g Release 2 RAC on Linux x86, x86-64, Itanium and Power is currently in progress. Is there any indication when this process will be completed? We have a customer in NZ that wants to use OCFSv2 for the OCR and voting files with 10.1.0.4 RAC on RHAS4.0 Linux x86-64. They do not want to use raw devices for these files and the project will be delayed until the certification is completed. OCFSv1 for kernel 2.6
Hi, are there plans to make OCSFv1 available for linux kernel 2.6.x ? We would like to upgrade a RAC on SUSE SLES8 to SUSE SLES9. SLES9SP2 will support OCFSv2, but if I understand correctly OCFSv1 and OCFSv2 are not compatible and we have to copy all the DB files from one filesystem to the other. Thanks for your help. bye, Sumit __________________________________________________________ Mit WEB.DE FreePhone mit hoechster Qualitaet ab 0 Ct./Min. weltwei...

OCFS2 on Linux-x86-64 9iR2
Hello, we have two bugs filed for Linux-x86 and Linux-x86-64 both using OCFS2 for their 9.2.0.7 DB installation. Strange thing happening in these two ports is, after DB got created, we are seeing 'Corrupt data block' messages in alert logs and when the same blocks verified connecting to database appears to be clean. This inconsistency is stopping customer to go further use DB. This

RE: Largish filesystems [was Re: XFS install issue]
To start I wish to that you for the swift response on this issue. I do not think that I would get such a quick response from a proprietary (closed-source) company. Open Source :-). To respond to one the comments about large file systems ?recommend you split it in several smaller (2-4TB) filesystems ? This is not feasible in many situations. In some situations 2-4TB is not even a reasonable

2 Node cluster crashing
Hi, We have a two node cluster running SLES 9 SP2 connecting directly to an EMC CX300 for storage. We are using OCFS(OCFS2 DLM 0.99.15-SLES) for the voting disk etc, and ASM for data files. The system has been running until last Friday when the whole cluster went down with the following error messages in the /var/log/messages files : rac1: Jul 7 14:56:23 rac1 kernel:

6 node cluster with unexplained reboots
We just installed a new cluster with 6 HP DL380g5, dual single port Qlogic 24xx HBAs connected via two HP 4/16 Storageworks switches to a 3Par S400. We are using the 3Par recommended config for the Qlogic driver and device-mapper-multipath giving us 4 paths to the SAN. We do see some SCSI errors where DM-MP is failing a path after get a 0x2000 error from the SAN controller, but the path gets puts

OCF2 and LVM
Does anybody knows if is there a certified procedure in to backup a RAC DB 10.2.0.3 based on OCFS2 , via split mirror or snaphots technology ? Using Linux LVM and OCFS2, does anybody knows if is possible to dinamically extend an OCFS filesystem, once the underlying LVM Volume has been extended ? Thanks in advance Riccardo Paganini

ocfs2 cluster becomes unresponsive
We are running OCFS2 on SLES9 machines using a FC SAN. Without warning both nodes will become unresponsive. Can not access either machine via ssh or terminal (hangs after typing in username). However the machine still responds to pings. This continues until one node is rebooted, at which time the second node resumes normal operations. I am not entirely sure that this is an OCFS2 problem at all
