problem with opening more than one SOCK cluster with package snow
Dear list,
i have some problems using the snow package to create a SOCK cluster.
The errors just occour irregularly but it seems to me that they occour
when I try to create more than one cluster on the same machine via
different R instances started via submitting LSF jobs to a cluster. Does
anyone have an idea how to solve this or where to start digging for
solutions?

I am a biologist currently working my way through R, had sort play around with python earlier this year.
I have some data exhibiting periodicity ** my data consists of peaks and valleys, with peaks arising due to the presence of a repetitive structural unit,** with x being a reference grid (position along a chromosome) and y

Error in sort(abs(diff(genomdat)))[1:n.keep] : only 0's may be mixed with negative subscripts
Hello everyone,
I`m trying to normalize and analize an illumina SNP array.
But when i`m trying to segmentate i`m getting an error:

I`ve tried everything to fix this but the error still occours.
Can anybody give me a tip?
Thanks in advance!

im using speex library on my vo ip project, but some times, after it
works ok, it begins to play noises (like voice hits) decoding the

I finally found that reseting SpeexBits and decoder state it solves.
If i cant avoid this problem, i wish to solve when it occours, but ?how
to detect this?

help with combining data frames
Dear R user,
I'm relative new and need some help / advise from you. I have
organised my data in several frames, mainly because the data came
from different sources. One common variable in all data frames is the
day post transplantation. I would like to combine the data frame to
one big data frame which contains all the data, however no duplicate
rows should occour (only one row for one

plotting issue with timestamps
I have a dataset with transactions and a timestamp at which they occoured
during a day. The time stamp is in the format YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss. I would
like to plot a timeseries of the transactions to see if there is a
particular time in the day when there is a spike in transactions. Ofcourse
the YYYY/MM/DD can be dropped since I am monitoring activity for the day and
the actual date is

Plot of a subset of a data.frame()
Hello,
my data.frame is sort of a collection of process values, i.e. huge
run-chart. It consists of a time-stamp in the first column (date as
string), factors in the following columns (used for subset-filtering),
and some process-data columns.
Hereafter, two examples are listed, showing the problems that occour
during print:
At first the example, that works fine:

Bug? High CPU Usage after nessus scan
Hi all,
I think I've found a Bug in current rc2 (same occours with rc1 and

nessus scan of my host with Bruteforce checks on IMAP, imap-login eats
up lots of cpu.
Before the scan:

forcing R CMD COMPILE
Hi,
I am developing a package with a lot of C++ code, and I have a question
about R CMD COMPILE. As I can see, when the package's Makefile calls
R CMD COMPILE foo.cpp
R verifies if foo.o exists, and if it is up to date (last modified after
foo.cpp's last), trying to avoid recompile foo.cpp. But __all__ my files
have other dependencies (at least a .h). The Makefile verifies it, and
calls

USB2.0/Firewire Enclosure
I (work :) bought a USB2.0/Firewire enclosure and I had a little trouble with
it until I came across this page
http://people.freebsd.org/~maho/USB/comment/ku350a.txt after trying the
sysctl things work well.
I haven't tried the USB2.0 side of it, as I don't have any USB2.0 controllers.
The Firewire bit works great too (quite a bit faster than USB1 :)
The enclosure in question is made
