Roaming profiles brings error with prf*.tmp files
...(3.0.2) PDC Server with roaming profiles for Windows XP (SP1 Prof) Clients on the Server. The Share for the PCs is only shared with SMB. When a PC log off, the profile will be copied to the server and brings the error message that the files prf*.tmp can?t be copied to the server. This error message occours not every time and only on large windows profiles (bigger ca. 50 MB). The transfer to the server is very slow when the files will be copied. The problem occours on different Windows XP SP1 machines. Is this a trouble on the server or on the windows clients? I hope you can help me.

problem with opening more than one SOCK cluster with package snow
Dear list, i have some problems using the snow package to create a SOCK cluster. The errors just occour irregularly but it seems to me that they occour when I try to create more than one cluster on the same machine via different R instances started via submitting LSF jobs to a cluster. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this or where to start digging for solutions? The error messages are: li...

Curve fitting,FDA for biological data
...ata. I would like to use a curve fitting algorithm (I guess something like a fourier analysis and/or splines). Due to the nature of the data I would like to look for periodicities at different scales (along the x grid). So say 2-4 different splines/curves are probably enough to describe the 40,000 occourences of the repetitive structural unit in my data, while say 4-6 of these units could exhibit certain patterns in the way they group together. I assume in my case, I can consider my x axis (position) to be equivalent to a time x axis as in signal processing. I considered using the FDA package (si...

Error in sort(abs(diff(genomdat)))[1:n.keep] : only 0's may be mixed with negative subscripts
Hello everyone, I`m trying to normalize and analize an illumina SNP array. But when i`m trying to segmentate i`m getting an error: Error in sort(abs(diff(genomdat)))[1:n.keep] : only 0's may be mixed with negative subscripts. I`ve tried everything to fix this but the error still occours. Can anybody give me a tip? Thanks in advance! -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Error-in-sort-abs-diff-genomdat-1-n-keep-only-0-s-may-be-mixed-with-negative-subscripts-tp4633091.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

help with combining data frames
...ou. I have organised my data in several frames, mainly because the data came from different sources. One common variable in all data frames is the day post transplantation. I would like to combine the data frame to one big data frame which contains all the data, however no duplicate rows should occour (only one row for one day) Here an example which illustrates what I would like to do: Frame 1 Day Hb wbc 1 10 4 3 11 7 5 9 6 Frame 2 Day ALT 1 60 2 70 4 50 5 80 Combined Day Hb wbc ALT 1 10 4 60 2 NA...

plotting issue with timestamps
I have a dataset with transactions and a timestamp at which they occoured during a day. The time stamp is in the format YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss. I would like to plot a timeseries of the transactions to see if there is a particular time in the day when there is a spike in transactions. Ofcourse the YYYY/MM/DD can be dropped since I am monitoring activity for the day...

...; "MALO" "" ... $ V12: chr "" "DO" "PE©ÈEN" "" ... $ V13: chr "" "R" "S" "" ... $ V14: chr "" "=" "TANKIMI" "" ... Is it possible to count which word occours most often in each field (V1, V2, V3, ...) and which one is the second and so on. Ideally i would like to create a table for each field (V1, V2, V3, ...) with the prevailing word and the number of occurancies of that word in that field (column) . Hope that explains it ok... Plot of a subset of a data.frame()
...data.frame is sort of a collection of process values, i.e. huge run-chart. It consists of a time-stamp in the first column (date as string), factors in the following columns (used for subset-filtering), and some process-data columns. Hereafter, two examples are listed, showing the problems that occour during print: At first the example, that works fine: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ a = c(1:10) # create a vector of integers b = rep(c("a","b"),5) # create a vector of chars, used # as factor-levels d = rnorm(10) # some random numbe...

Plasma problem with numeric keypad
...lem is related to Plasma application. I noticed the same problem on sddm login. I noticed that to make the numeric keypad to work I need to press SHIFT+NUMKEY. I tried to manage Plasma keyboard configuration but nothing worked. I tried my keyboard on other PC and distro but the problem does not occour. I should try this using GNOME or XFCE but being a KDE user I would avoid to install the others. There is a way to solve this problem? Thank you in advance. Alessandro.

forcing R CMD COMPILE
...R verifies if foo.o exists, and if it is up to date (last modified after foo.cpp's last), trying to avoid recompile foo.cpp. But __all__ my files have other dependencies (at least a .h). The Makefile verifies it, and calls COMPILE only when it is sure that foo.o is not up to dated. The problem occours, for example, if I modify only foo.h, and then compile again. R will say that foo.o is up to date, but it is not true. Is there any way to force R CMD COMPILE?? Well, I can remove the .o file before COMPILE, but I think R could do something about it... Logging on and all usual tasks seems to work as before the update. To my mind this error occoures everytime when Windows wants to get a user- and group-list from the PDC. Maybe this bug was introduced with the new groupmap handling, that windows gets some answer which it cannot handle correctly? I only have these domain-groups mapped (samba 3.0.21b showed some more, but unmapped ones): #...

I haven't tried the USB2.0 side of it, as I don't have any USB2.0 controllers. The Firewire bit works great too (quite a bit faster than USB1 :) The enclosure in question is made
