Question on system command 1.4.43
...to the box and send/receive serial commands over this unit it works without error EVERY time. however, if I run the same command set from with-in the extensions.conf with System() I get errors in dmesg like "pl2303 ttyUSB0: pl2303_open - failed submitting read urb, error -22" and then obviusly my command does not work. however, again - If I go back to the command line and my command it runs just fine. Any ideas on what might be happening here? Jerry extensions.conf exten => s,1,ChanIsAvail(Console/Dsp) exten => s,n,GotoIf($["${AVAILCHAN}" = ""]?smvoice-busy...

cannot change user password with CTRL-ALT-DEL
...-DEL, a popup window appears saying: "password change failed, the domain <xxx> is not available". But the fact is that the password has been succesfully changed (i.e. the popup should state: "password succesfully changed."). When users log out and login again, the login obviusly fails, since users use their old passwords instead of the new ones... I wonder whether I am the only one who is experiencing this problem and whether somebody knows how to solve this problem. I can send the logs (nmbd.log, smbd.log and log.machinename) if somebody needs them. Thanks, Angel C...

smbpasswd web frontend
Hello. Before starting to write such a thing myself, I'm asking whether it already exists. What I want is the ability to give a non-technical admin the ability to change passwords for any user. This web page will obviusly be protected and only accessible to him. The thing should be as simple as possible; I don't need UNIX password sync, the ability to add or remove users, or any other feature. I also guess that the web way would be the easiest, but I'm open to other solutions. bye & Thanks av.

PDC, BDC and member server
...3.x.x. It will act as a domain member server /file server for users. (hostname FSERVER). -1 not so old server with debian sarge, samba 3.x.x, winbind and ldap as slave server. (hostname JEDI). Its role is to serve as BDC and as a redundant file server in order to go up if the FSERVER dies :( . Obviusly the share between FSERVER and JEDI will be syncronized using rsync at night. In this way I think to be covered from domain controller fault, overload and from FSERVER fault, remaining online with at least one DC and one fileserver. Can you give an opinion about this idea? PS: excuse for poor eng...

I can't remove wine applications!
...not present in my .PlayOnLinux dir neither (the config dir, with my call of duty 2 wine prefix which still works, remained, but I removed POL). Even though, the setup.exe always brings me to the uninstall process and, after it, the pes files are again in my .wine dir and also the registry entries (obviusly without the serial code string, cause I've not inserted it!!!)! I don't know what to do! I only would like to freshly reinstall the game after my wine upgrade! Can anyone help me? Please! Thanks in advance!

Extract correlations from a matrix
Dear R users, suppose I have a matrix of observations for which I calculate all pair-wise correlations: m=matrix(sample(1:100,replace=T),10,10) w=cor(m,use="pairwise.complete.obs") How do I extract only those correlations that are >0.6? w[w>0.6] #obviously doesn?t work, and I can?t find a way around it. I would very much appreciate any help! Best wishes Christoph (using R

[OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0 -> 4.1 update failing
From: Maciej ?enczykowski <maze at cela.pl> > That's a good point - does anyone know what the new Intel > Virtualization thingamajig in the new dual core pentium D's is about? It's all speculation at this point. But there are _several_ factors. But I'm sure the first time Intel saw AMD's x86-64/PAE52 presentation, the same thing popped into my mind that popped
