Version 3.0.2a and Windows XP Problem
...62 files are
available but the first time this directory is listet, there are a big
number of files with 0kb in size... when the directory is opened again
all files are good!!!
I played around with various parameters in smb.conf under protocol and
tuning section... no change in behaviour!
I also observerd that always the same file are missing in Explorer and
also there are always 3134 files listed and no more. The Windows XP
"DOS-Style Command Window" also shows the same number of files. After I
created a subdirectory with one single symbolic link file in it (using a

Fitting a kind of Proportional Odds Modell using nlme, polr, lrm or ordgee
...thin a study.
It is given by
log(Q_{ijk}/(1-Q_{ijk}) = \alpha_{ik} + \beta*x_{ij} (k=1,...,m-1)
This model can be considered as arising from a latent continuos variable
. Assume that the response of the j-th subject in study i is truly equal
to G_{ij} although this latent reponse will never be observerd.
G_{ij} has a logistic distribution with:
Q_{ijk} = P(G_{ij} <= \alpha_{ik}) =
1/(1+exp(-(\alpha_{ik}+\beta*x_{ij}) (k=1,...,m-1)
in which Q_{ijk} is the probabilty of having a response for the j-th
subject in category k or better that means p_{ij1}+....+p_{ijk}= Q_{ijk}
and Q_{ijm}=1...

Huge VQ codebooks
Hi,
Does anybody know how codebooks are generated in OggVorbis encoder? We
are porting oggorbis encoder on embedded platform for which VQ codebook
memory is hugeeee to imagine. How can we reduce that? Can we do VQ with
less codebooks and if yes how? If any help available?

Restarting network on host completely cuts off guests. Why? How to prevent?
Hi list,
this probably isn't a completely libvirt-specific question but I'll try
anyway. Please ignore if it is too much off-topic.
On an Ubuntu (9.10) virtualisation host, running KVM and libvirt and
several guests (Debian, Ubuntu, Windows Server 2003) in a bridged
network fashion [1,2] I noticed that performing
/etc/init.d/networking restart
on the host completely cuts off all

SAMBA on AIX
Hi everyone,
I run to some confusion here and hope someone give me a answer before I
implement it.
I am trying to install samba2.05 on my AIX 4.3.1, but the binary file in the
web site is for AIX 4.3.2. Can I still use the binary file for my
installation on AIX 4.3.1 ?
Thanks !
