"obey pam restrictions" and encrypted passwords
Hello everybody, I?m using Red Hat 7.3 with Samba setup as a PDC, and I?m having a doubt. I am studying the directive "obey pam restrictions" because I would like to limit the number of logins with the same id. The documentation provided by SWAT tells me that encrypted passwords (like used by Windows98SE) will NOT follow these restrictions. Anybody could tell me if this information is

Obey Pam Restrictions Problem 3.0.10
Hi, I was using Samba 3.0.9 on Fedora Core 2 and decided to upgrade to 3.0.10. So I upgrade to Core 3 and installed Samba 3.0.10 and thought I could just copy my settings over to the new build and everything would run smoothly. I thought wrong. Everything seems fine until I enable Obey Pam Restrictions. If enabled I get a login error from XP stating: " Windows cannot locate your

what does the sum of square of Gaussian RVs with differen t variance obey?
This is a relatively recent article that is somewhat accessible. Jensen, D. R., and Solomon, Herbert (1994), "Approximations to joint distributions of definite quadratic forms", Journal of the American Statistical Association, 89 , 480-486 It has references to previous work. I also have an old paper that is so old I can't tell what journal it came out of:( Grad, Arthur and Solomon,

dict client auth-worker service count not obeyed?
Hi, I've noticed that in recent dovecot versions at least since 2.2.29 and not in 2.2.12 a dovecot auth-worker will happily issue two Lshared/passdb... queries on the same dict socket. Not always, but sometimes. It used to be that the dict client always closed the socket (AFAIK) after 1 query. But now I see 2 queries issued on the same connection. How does this work wrt. the service_count
