facts are loaded twice
Hi,
i''ve set up my puppet on several clients and today i noticed that the
facts are loaded twice by the clients. I took strace to get the list
of loaded fact file and i found that puppet seems to load the same
fact files twice:
chdir("/var/lib/puppet/lib/facter") = 0
open(".", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_DIRECTORY|O_CLOEXEC) = 6

Generic UPS driver
One small comment:
When the driver has no permission to access the device, it exits with a
segmentation fault, it would be nice to have a more informative error.
I'm not really sure if the issue is speciffic to this driver or is it
general.
I attached the output of an strace with the driver crashing.
Best regards.

nut and megatec_usb
ut 2.4.1 works with megatec_usb driver. It tries to interact with a
device in /dev/bus/usb/X/Y, but there are root:root 664 access rights.
When I try to set port /dev/hiddev0 with write access in config
file, in strace there are no records about accessing /dev/hiddev, but
still only /dev/bus/usb/X/Y
How to explain such a behavior?

Problem with Share Size
Hi all,
I have a problem with samba : I can create files, but can't create directories.
The server has many shares, on seperated disks.
We consider two of them : one 2Tb share and one share with more than 7Tb.
Samba configuration is good, and works on many other servers, and on this one except for the large share. Permissions are correctly setted up too.
I can read/write files and

poor samba performance with many smaller files
I removed the O_CREAT|O_EXCL checks and added check to exclude O_DIRECTORY,
but it is not working, opening of files fails and I don't know why.
I can see in strace logs that openat syscall in vfs_aio_pthread was
successful, but it still fails and this messages are logged:

Sorry that I don't known how to use wireshark now.
I have the ptrace log:

Permission denied for home, even when it's 777
I cannot access home samba share from windows. Windows client displays a
permission denied error. The problem is not Linux permissions for the user
directory, permission is still denied when permissions are to 777. I don't
think the problem is selinux, because no denials appear in any logs. I don't
think it's an extended attributes issue from xfs, because I don't see any
attributes

Samba 3.0.4 and DOS 6.2.2 - MSDOS Copy problem
Hello, I am having a problem with Samba 3.0.4 and DOS clients. The
MSDOS COPY command will not work on mapped directories. When I try to
run the COPY command I get an "File not found" error message. This only
happens on DOS, all other OS's work fine.
I have noticed that someone else on this list has also run into this
problem, but no answer/work-around is posted.

Dovecot 1.0-test52 and LDAP authentication
Hi all!
I have upgraded Dovecot 0.99.11 installation that's worked with LDAP to
Dovecot 1.0-test52 and I can't get LDAP to work. I noticed the
/etc/dovecot.conf is slightly different, so I have adjusted changes. If I
use the standard auth (passw & pam) everything works fine, however when I
user ldap for auth Dovecot starts but then dies:
