Giving a domU direct access to a NIC
Hello,
I am experimenting with Snort and other IDS and I would like to use Xen for
these tests. This would require me to use port mirroring to sent a bunch of
packets to a NIC located on my Xen machine.
I don''t really know how Xen networking works, but is it possible to give a
domU direct access to a NIC ? Or at least give it enough access so that it
can see packets that are not for the

Migration stalls with 2.6.26.5 kernel
Hello,
I have been struggling through the task of moving our infrastructure
over to Xen VMs. We were initially using Ubuntu packages for both dom0
and our domUs, but experienced extreme instability so we moved to
CentOS, which has been much more reliable for dom0. Since we already
had a bunch of Ubuntu VMs, we left them using the Ubuntu 2.4.24-19-xen
kernel, but this has turned out to be

Working COMPAT_VDSO patch?
Hi all,
Does anybody know about a really working COMPAT_VDSO patch for the
"standard" linux-2.6.18-xen-3.2.0 or linux-2.6.18-xen-3.3.0 kernels? As
far as I know, Jan Beulich was the first to write a patch for this
purpose, but I was unable to apply his downloadable patches.
Regards,
Tamas
PS.: Does anybody know how to do SCSI (e.g. ultrium tape) passtrough in
Xen 3.3.0 in practice?

xen on openSUSE
Dear developers!
I''ve found that recent xen releases cannot be simly run on openSUSE! The
script /etc/xen/scripts/xen-network-common.sh makes some incorrect
assumptions on the SuSE ifup script. Bridged xen networking only works
if the script executes this branch:
preiftransfer()
{
true
}
ifup()
{
false
}
ifdown()
{
false
}
Otherwise the xen networking scripts fail to put the

LVM related bug in the GPL PV drivers for Windows?
Dear Xen users!
In case you were struggling with recent version of th gplpv drivers,
I''ve possibly found an LVM related bug in it, and reported to James
Harper. Thats''s the point:
I''ve tested the mentioned version of your driver on top of 32bit
xen-3.2.1 32bit xen-3.3.0 and 64bit xen xen-3.3.0 hypervisors, dom0 was
always an appropriate version of a 32bit PAE kernel,
