APARCH
Hi,
Could somebody say if it is possible to compute APARCH-models with garchFit
commands.
I have earlier used aaa (garchOxFit) and now I try to use bbb (look below)
aaa <-
garchOxFit(formula.mean=~arma(1,0),formula.var=~aparch(1,1),series=nyk,cond.dist=c('gaussian'))
bbb <- garchFit(formula=~arma(1,0)+aparch(1,1),data=nyk)
aaa works well, but I need other characteristics of garchFit and, therefore it
would be important to know what's wrong with my bbb command (the value of delta
is fixed to 2 and I get totally differe...

bandwith issues, ISP hosting services, etc
I am looking into supporting around 20 SIP clients (ATAs, IP softphones, etc) distributed in around 10 different end points (in South America). For the most part they all have narrow band connections 64kpbs, 128 at most and I?d like to use g729 all around (don?t have too many alternatives)
To start with, I will have one * with no gateway to the PSTN and eventually a few * boxes with termination

password server is not connected
I have installed samba 2.2.7a on FreeBSD from the ports collection. I
have used an existing samba config file which worked with samba 2.0.x.
I am using security = server
Yesterday, a user attempting to use a print share started getting
rejected with the message:

Fixed size permutations
I'm using functions to return a matrix of all permutations of a
specified size from a larger list for predictor selection.
For each predictor size I use a seperate function like this:
bag2 <- function(n) {
rl <- c()
for (i1 in seq(n)) {
for (i2 in seq(n)) {
if (length(unique(c(i1,i2)))==1) {next}
rl <- cbind(rl,matrix(c(i1,i2)))
}
}

Node colors in pvclust
Is there a way to assign color to nodes as with
hclust/as.dendrogram/dendrapply when using pvclust?
The problem is that as.dendrogram isn't working on the pvclust objects.
library(pvclust)
pvc <- pvclust(matrix, nboot=1000)
plot(pvc)

ROC curve in randomSurvivalForest
I'm using randomSurvivalForest to predict survival from a rather small
sample. As it's not enough data to have training and validation set, I
rely on the "Estimate of error rate" computed by the randomForest. If I
understand the method correctly, it repeatedly partitions the data into
varying training/validation sets during the learning steps, which also
produces the

Heatmap Colors
Hello R-Users!
I'm using a heatmap to visualize a matrix of values between -1 and 3.
How can I set the colors so that white is zero, below zero is blue of
increasing intensity towards -1 and above zero is red of increasing
intensity towards red?
I tried like this (using the marray and gplots packages from bioconductor):
mcol <- maPalette(low="blue", mid="white",
