You can try nvtv (http://sourceforge.net/projects/nv-tv-out/). It bypasses
X and modesetting and programs the Brooktree and CRTC directly. I've
no idea if it still work with modern X and/or nouveau. :-)

TV-Out on a GeForce 2MX supported?
Hello,
I have here a GeForce 2MX (NV10) with a Brooktree BT869 chip for the
TV-Out.
Is the TV-Out on this card supported by Nouveau? I read on the feature
matrix something that the TV-Out is only supported for some Chrontel
chips, furthermore
xrandr -q
shows me only the DVI connection (in fact it's VGA, not DVI), but not
the S-Video connection. If not supported, is this planned for future

The problem is that there's no good way to just say "I want this
overscan" and then get a valid set of register values, because of
the timing constraints. Nvtv includes a sort of "calculator" that
tries to calculate a collection of sets of sensible values as close
to a desired overscan as possible, but you still have to check (and
tweak, if necessary) every of those sets to see if it actually works.

TVout reverse engineering GF4 etc.
Hi,
I read on http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/TestersWanted that
you're looking for information for the integrated tvout
functionality. I'm the author of nvtv, and I know some bits and pieces
about that subject, so maybe we can pool efforts.
The TV encoder used in the NVidia GPUs may be a Zoran CVE IP core,
http://www.zoran.com/products/literature/index.html
For the GF4 MX, it's possibly a CVE2, and for the newer cards, it may be
one of the later...

nvidia/4.8-stable
Has anyone had the nvidia driver successfully work for them? I ended up crashing everytime I tried to use X. All I'm interested in is the use of my tv-out on my nvidia card. any input is appreciated

tv-out on FX5700VE
Hi,
I am interested in nouveau tv-out support. I read
http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/TestersWanted and make nvclock
dump with working tv-out on nvidia drivers.
xorg.conf and nvclock output are in attachments.
I have free saturday evening every week, so feel free to instruct me,
I like to help)
Also I have some expirience in C and generic knowledge about xorg
video drivers, so you may ask

CH7007A (AKA CH7006) TV OUT Support for NV11 (NVidia GeForce2 Go Dell I8K Laptop)
After analyzing verbose nouveau & drm dmesg, I have found seemingly no more
useful details pertaining to having no TV-1 device. The TV-1 device might be
getting lost within DRM, by setting the TV-1 (SVIDEO, Composite) device into
DPMS mode or Full Power Down mode, and the ch7006 datasheet does say in this
mode, all but the i2c circuits are disabled! Looking at
