NVBackgroundDetect
Can anybody share information how to install NVBackgroundDetect? I have the app_nv_backgrounddetect.c but I'm missing: app_nv_backgrounddetect.o and app_nv_backgrounddetect.so and have no idea how to generate them. Wiki point to contact Newman Telecom but all I received was the app_nv_backgrounddetect.c and no instruction how how to install it. The insta...

Incoming Fax Service question
Hi Everyone. Some time ago, I was told that it's possible to implement an incoming Fax server with extensions using only one PSTN line, like this: PSTN number: 1234567, that's the line connected, FAX numbers like: 1234567-00, 1234567-01, 1234567-02 and so on are routed to their respective recipients. I do not want real DID (which would mean buying a bunch of numbers from the telco,

Answer Machine/Fax/modem detection
Has anyone sucessfully implimented a fax or modem detection dial plan? I'm originating calls from asterisk using a list of numbers and dropping the destination into an IVR menu but need to do something different if a modem or fax answers. I tried to use the NVBackgroundDetect() application but i think that is for receiving faxes only. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Asterisk and Fax part 2
Hello, I've been trying to setup a Fax2Email mecanism on my Asterisk box. I have been using the following: 1) An incoming IAX line on Unlimitel (Im not even sure if it's worth mentionning the provider, but I do just in case) 2) NVBackGroundDetect from Newman Telecom 3) The following extension to test: exten => fax,1,SetVar(FAXFILE=/var/spool/asterisk-fax/${UNIQUEID}.tif) exten => fax,2,rxfax(${FAXFILE}) 4) A fax on a PSTN line to test the fax-to-file part of the system. Now, the extensions are called when appropriate, and the s...

SPA-3000 and incoming faxes
I've been running with a generic X100P for 5 or so months and every once in a while I have problem receiving faxes. I see that others have the same problems and some worse than I have with these boards so I was wondering if using a Sipura SPA-3000 would be any more reliable. Has anyone had enough experience to tell me if that would definitely fix the random fax error. PS. I have * at

app_nv_backgrounddetect - how to make module
How to compile additional module to asterisk? I have app_nv_backgrounddetect.c file and followed instructions below, but "make" did not generate app_nv_backgrounddetect.so or app_nv_backgrounddetect.o (1) Drop the code in your /usr/src/asterisk/apps directory (2) Edit the Makefile in the apps directory. Add the following line: APPS+=app_nv_backgrounddetect.so (3) Go to

Detect sound and continue, like BackgroundDetect() for voice
I'm looking for an application that can monitor a channel for voice input and then proceed on. The closest thing I've found is BackgroundDetect, which expects DTMF. Here's what I'm doing: -Call file generated which calls someone and connects them to an extension. -Extension plays stuff, etc. etc. etc (not important) With digital or VoIP termination, this works fine, because *

Pass through of T.38
Hi, I found some contradicting infos about pass through of T.38 data. Are there any experiences of just passing T.38 via SIP from one T.38 application or gateway trough asterisk to another T.38 application or gateway? Would asterisk maybe even pass T.38 from chan_oh323 to chan_sip (without understanding the content)? Please tell me, if you have knowledges or experiences on this topic!

Fax to Email with Asterisk and Lucent TNT
Hello, I have a Lucent MAX TNT, (DS-3, 672 modem ports, 28 PRIs). I'd like to be able to direct an inbound fax call into my TNT, have it answer the fax and send the image file over to Asterisk, or some other system to deliver to an e-mail address(s). I'm not sure if I need Asterisk to any of the call control or not. I'd also like to setup a print queue and have outbound

Asterisk Fax
Hi, I have read a lot about the thread of faxing support in Asterisk as well as spanDSP. However, either I don't fully understand other people's applications or may be what I'm trying to do is different from what others are trying to do. I have a very simple setup. I have an asterisk server with a TE110P connected to the PSTN via T1 PRI (Asterisk A). I have another asterisk
