[PATCH] gr/nv3x: add 0x0597 kelvin 3d class support
Tested on a NV34. There are reports of this also working on the other
nv3x chips. Largely useful for testing software written for NV2x without
having the actual hardware available.
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu>

Not sure whether nv30/nv35 have 0x0097 or 0x0597. Even though their respective
class numbers are lower, it's still believable they'd support 0x0597 since the
NV30 line was so long under development.
I have not verified whether nv34 supports 0x0097. However it seems to do 0x0597
largely fine.

I have this on two different box, one with nv25 and one with nv35.
I followed several links on google, and had a look at
arch/x86/mm/pat.c but I still don't understand well what it means,
whose fault it is, and what could the consequences be.
About the possible consequences, that code comment sounds a bit scary,
even though everything seems to be working....

*ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid
Another apparently harmless message.. But I find it quite curious.
Especially that they seem pretty harmful in the case of
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25393
So my setup is nv35 with a 19' CRT screen connected to vga output.
I get random occurrences of this message :

I would attempt to RE the TV encoder of some subset of NV17, NV34,
NV35 (that's the hardware i've access to).
Thanks.

commenting out the body of the function nouveau_mem_fb_amount_igp, I can

Removal of Non-KMS support
I did a very quick pass at removing all the non-KMS support from the
DDX. It's tested on G80 but nowhere else currently, I thought some
discussion would be a good idea rather than just ripping it out :)
The non-KMS paths are messy, and lets face it, rotting badly. IMO the
KMS code is stable enough now that we can continue without the UMS
crutch, and indeed, the KMS code supports a lot more

[PATCH 00/12] TV-out modesetting kernel patches.
This patch series adds TV-out modesetting support to the KMS
implementation.
I've tried to test it on all the hardware I've got at hand (that is
nv11, nv17, nv34, nv35, nv40, nv4b) with every possible output
combination; I believe it has reached a mergeable state, however it
depends on some commits from drm-next that haven't got into Linus'
tree yet, if you agree to merge this they could be cherry-picked, they
are:
