false alerts/shutdown
Hello,
I've installed Nut (2.0.5) on RedHat a week ago, and upsmon seems to
generate false alarms every hour:

nutups with MGE Evolution via USB
I'm getting dmesg flooded with messages like this one:
usbdevfs: usb_submit_urb returned -28
What's wrong? I'm using Linux kernel 2.4.32 and nut-2.0.3.
The /etc/ups.conf contains
[mgeups]
driver = newhidups
port = auto
desc = "MGE UPS"
Cheers,
Rodrigo

Working platform with FreeBSD + USB + MGE Ellipse (usbhid-ups)
...some difficulties to run NUT on freebsd, but I finally managed to
have something that work reliably enough. For those who may be interested,
here is what I did.
Os: FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p7, nut: 2.2.0, libusb: 0.1.12
First, I had to patch libusb with the changes submitted by Nevil Thatcher
in the nutups forum in may 2006. Without this change, nothing works.
(http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2006-May/000992.html)
At this point, I had something that more or less works, but the USB connection
drops occasionaly for some reasons, and won't recover. I did not trace it enough

How do I approach this problem?
...le as possible, and I have another
which serves this data to the outside world when possible.
This is a low-budget operation, so buying bigger UPSs or auto-generator
systems is not an option. Is there any way to have the UPS restart my
computers once it knows its back on live power?
I am using nutups to communicate with the UPS on the computer hooked to
the sensors. I have a tripplite on the other main computer and am using
their package. Both are Linux computers.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Difficulty over USB with a CyberPower 800AVR and nut 2.0.3
I recently purchased a CyberPower 800AVR UPS which I'm trying to use
over USB with my PC (ArchLinux 0.7.2 [aka up to date]) and nut 2.0.3.
Following the setup instructions, I have an entry as follows in
/etc/nutups/ups.conf (where I chose the configuration file to go when
building nut):
[MyUPS]
driver = cyberpower
port = /dev/bus/usb/004/007
desc = Workstation
I've been varying the "port = " line per the output from dmesg each
time I plug in the UPS (I plan on using ude...
