If there is any usefulness in MSYS/MINGW output in getting MSYS2/MINGW to pass the apitest I can not say, neither will forward I an assessment as to whether in this direction old stable (1.2.24) might be looked at before current (1.4.1) as pertains to MSYS/MINGW and/or MSYS2/MINGW. http://nurmi-labs.blogspot.com/p/xapian-linux-sse.html (passes api library tests but failed api remote tests) http://nurmi-labs.blogspot.com/p/xapian-ms-sse.html (FAIL: apitest.exe) http://nurmi-labs.blogspot.com/p/xapian-linux-old-stable-sse.html xapian-core-1.2.24 (All 6 tests passed)

flintlock / tcl bindings
Comment by Eric Lindblad 10-09-2015 http://www.nurmi-labs.blogspot.com I have sent a copy of Eric J.'s 21 Feb. 2016 dated e-mail [Database left unlocked by Tcl bindings] to a Tcl programmer in the Vancouver area, with whom I have had an exchange of e-mails before. If I receive a timely response I'll post it to the xapian-discuss list.

from Vancouver / tcl bindings
Comment by Eric Lindblad 23-02-2016 http://www.nurmi-labs.blogspot.com cf: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/9948 I would suspect the fork here, if there are any threads involved. What Tcl really needs is some pthread_atfork() triggers, but they aren?t exposed in any meaningful way, so you can lose things over a fork split.

Windows Services for Linux (WSL)
I am curious if anyone with access to a Windows 10 installation has looked ad WSL. Test results on running Xapian in WSL might be interesting. This post is regarding functional programming shells, but has a link near the end to an FAQ for WSL. http://nurmi-labs.blogspot.com/2017/01/xs.html

how to build Xapian project on windows?
...hink formerly it was listed on the Xapian website which was the last version of xapian-core known to compile with nmake.exe; I don't recall presently if that was listed as 1.2.8 or 1.2.12. If there are no objections maybe I'll place the nmake files in a repository here. https://github.com/nurmi-labs

swig-3.0.7 for xapian-bindings to tcl
I recently wrote a post on installing "Git for Windows" on a legacy XP SP3 Home box. http://nurmi-labs.blogspot.com/2016/11/git.html I added some missing files from the MSYS2 packages which were removed for the downloadable "Git for Windows" installer and a compiler and some additional libraries. For other utilities (bison, flex, info, m4, make, and csh/tcsh), and code I would compi...
