Numlock
We have encountered an anomaly that appears to be related somehow to Samba. When users are moved to the new domain hosted by Samba4.3 then the numlock on their keyboards is always turned off when they log onto the domain regardless of its previous setting. This in itself is just a nuisance. However we have an application called SnetTerm, an ssh client, which will not recognise the numlock at all when run by a user logged into the new domain. T...

Poll: Which distro do you use for Rails/Ruby development?
Good afternoon, I''ve two quick questions for the Ruby/Rails community. 1) Do you use Linux for Ruby or Rails development? 2) If you use Linux, which distro do you normally use to develop? Thank you for your input. :-) -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

key remapping
...ged space to num 0 for example. i tried some progs now, like key tweak for windows, this doesnt work due to the missing registry entry, which key tweak uses. autohotkey has problems with finding my keyboard layout (showes me errors in the terminal). intes keychange has the problem not to find my numlock keys, anyway this is the only programm which nearly runs fine. but i need the numlock key for remapping. the progams i tried are all windows programms. i now still ask myself how to do that, because all my tries have failed, even google didnt satisfy me :( u guys would make me proud with a solut...

[1.2]-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:SoC - Remapping keys? Hi, I am running Wine 1.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 32bit Linux. I wish to remap the movement keys in: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, but when I try, it always maps "Pause" ? Any help would be appreciated! Running game through Valve's Steam client. Game seems to work fine otherwise... Jesse

Centos 6 - tigervnc - numbers on keypad
...puter. On Centos 5 you could enter numbers into the program using the numeric keypad. I just installed a new machine running Centos 6 to do this same job and now numbers can only be entered using the numbers across the top of the keyboard. The program still recognizes the keys on the keypad when numlock is not set (so you get home, pgup, left and right cursor, etc.) but I get nothing when I set the numlock key. Having said that, I do see activity when I set numlock and run the xev program, so the keypresses are obviously getting through. How can I make this thing accept numbers from the numeric...

I would really like to get this working, but I have not found anything that works. I have tried using irqpoll, but nothing seemed to change. I have been searching for the b...

IDLE still broken
Hey, Sure enough, IDLE 1.0.3 came with Python 2.3, but the update did not fix my problem. I found a entry in RedHat's bugzilla, "Inconsistent input from numeric pad when numlock off", bug 136600. I put one in on SourceForge (where Python bugs are tracked) under IDLE, "input from numeric pad always dropped when numlock off", # 1074333. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=136600 https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&ai...

Running EQ2 under Wine locks my system... anyone else?
...dding player to world..." stage. A few months back it would get this far and crash but now it absolutely locks up, mouse still moves but cannot click, other windows on screen (such as the one with "top" running freeze, keyboard is dead, can't ctrl-alt-backspace, in fact even the numlock light is stuck on - the only thing I can do is reboot. I'm running the latest GIT source compiled on my box running the latest Ubuntu Feisty with the latest drivers from ATI for my X1600. Other (linux native) 3D apps work fine, such as supertux cart etc. Can anyone else confirm this happens w...

Xen4CentOS installation strangeness
...following the Xen setup steps at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/Xen4QuickStart which installed me the kernel 3.10.32-11.el6.centos.alt.x86_64, I encountered a problem: After "Starting certmonger [OK]" the screen went black and the system became unresponsive: keyboard was not working (NumLock did not respond) and SSH was not responding either. After first lockup I increased dom0 max mem to 2G, but rebooting after that produced the same result. The strange thing is, that after a third reboot everything worked ok: screen went black for a moment after "Staring certmonger [OK]" bu...

Odd output from X100P
...0P & S100U). After I modprobe wcfxo, the machine goes into some kind of loop after about 10 seconds, where it spits out what appears to be 32-bit addresses, ad infinitum. At this point, the machine becomes completely unresponsive to keyboard input (i.e. Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Alt-Del, even CapsLock and NumLock states [lights] cannot be changed). /etc/zaptel.conf contains: fxsks=1 fxoks=2 loadzone = us defaultzone=us The addresses are to the screen and are not logged to syslog. They are of the form [<c053dc09>] [<c8009ec0>], etc. The addresses appear to all be in the ranges C0xxxxxx and C8...

Event.observe problem
...quot; /> </form> Let''s say, I press an "s" key. In the first, inline event, it alerts keyCode 115 =s. Doing the same in the observed input it alerts keyCode 83=S. Somehow the Event.observer capitalizes the character. (and it gets a bit wild with special characters from numlock etc.) Does anyone now how to make Event.observer return the correct value? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group.
