samba configuration and in a transitive manner effectively
authenticate to the main campus kerberos server as well for
our samba connections?
If not, how can we do this?
We will appreciate any insights anyone has to offer. We're

Mac OS upgrade upsets access to samba shares
...x.m.0.0/255.255.0.0, x.y.n.
hosts deny = all
block size = 4096
veto oplock files = /*.*db/
strict locking = No
We have googled our brains out and tried using NETBIOS names and ip
addr's in place of fqdn's.
Any suggestions out there?

DFS root in homes possible?
Hi list
DFS Links in a separate share seems to work, but in the
[homes] section does not.
Is this a known problem?
Samba is 3.0.26a.

host msdfs = yes

msdfs root = yes

WinXP DFS problems, debugging with dfsutil.exe
Hello Johan,
I'm having the same problems with DFS and WinXP clients since I upgraded
to 2.2.8.
I tried to clear the cache on the client side with dfsutil.exe that
comes with the Win2000 SP2 but to no avail.
Can anyone else confirm this problem?
It's also strange that on the WinXP clients the version of the samba
server is still registered as a previous version (2.2.6 or 2.2.7).

You will then need to type the Windows Domain Administrator password.
I hope this helps!

I forgot to mention that in addition to that I had to set "security =

We do use an LMHOSTS file. Maybe that will help?

broken swat when using socket address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, v3.2.8
We are trying out samba 3.2.8. All of our samba servers have multiple network interfaces. With version 3.0.31 we were able to use
Socket address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, 127.0.0.1
and nmbd worked fine as did swat.
With 3.2.8 that syntax causes nmbd to crash and complain about an invalid address.
If we adjust the syntax to use
Socket address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Or socket
