Profile creation
SAMBA VERSION: 2.2.4
ERROR(S): Profile Creation
I have recently been assigned to create a Samba PDC. Earlier in the
week, I thought I was successful. I was able to log in, load (or create)
the test user's .ntprofile, etc. Went home that night, happy as could be.
Came back the next day - and nothing was working correctly. The systems
could not find the domain. The domain was not

Roaming Profiles with Samba PDC
I have been working on this problem for quite some time now and have not been able to find the solution.
I have Samba running on Debian Linux 3.0 (Woody) as a primary domain controller. From my Windows 2000 desktop I am able to browse that Linux server with Windows Explorer.
My biggest problem is trying to log in to that domain. Under Windows 2000 I am able to join the domain (sjmlinux) but

cannot locate roaming profile
I've just edited smb.conf to make it a PDC on my SuSE 9.1 machine. I
can add other machines to the domain but when I try to log on, I get the
message "Windows cannot locate your roaming profile...blah blah" My
config file is below.

"No such file" error when reading Win98 profiles
Hi all,
I'm having an odd error with Samba 2.2.5 and I'm wondering if anyone can
give me a hand with it.
About a month ago, I upgraded from Samba 2.2.1 to 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.2 and,
since then, my Win98 users have been receiving "No such file or directory"
errors during login. The upgrade was installed using John Terpstra's RH 7.2
RPM package.
Users are set up with roaming

No Admin-Rights in SMB-PDC-Domain
Hello,
I've build a domain with Samba 3.0.23 and sucessfully joined this domain
with a Windows-XP-Machine. I can log in to that machine as User "Root",
wich is in the Group "Domain Admins" (rid=512). But I have no
admin-rights on that machine.
Also, normal User can not log in over the Remotesession (RDP).
Can anybody help me to figure out why?
Here is my smb.conf:

Roaming Profiles acls after upgrade
We recently upgraded our samba 3.6 network to samba 4.2.3. It is still a
NT-style domain.
The underlying OS was upgraded from CentOS 5 to CentOS 7.
The profiles share is set up like this:

comment = Roaming Profiles
path = /mnt/share2/ntprofiles
browseable = no
writable = yes
csc policy = disable
create mask = 0600
directory mask = 0700
admin users = +ntadmins
I noticed that the directory mask is being ignored for new profiles and
filesystem acls are being added instead.
Compare these two di...

Profile directories ignore directory mask
Hello,
We are running Samba 3.0.4 in ADS mode with winbind. We use roaming
profiles, stored in the [homes] share for each user in a directory
called .ntprofile. This same home directory is used for their UNIX
account. For some reason, when windows creates the roaming profile
directory (.ntprofile) it gets created with permissions 771. This is
bad, because all of our users are members of the
