However, ntpd is still trying to change/adjust the system time, leading to a couple of errors in the syslog:
start_kern_loop: ntp_loopfilter.c line 1119: ntp_adjtime: Operation not permitted
set_freq: ntp_loopfilter.c line 1082: ntp_adjtime: Operation not permitted
I’d assume I could just ignore those but before continuing, I’d appreciate some comments from the team. Do you see any major issues in my approach, and what would you do differently?
Thanks,

Time just moved backwards error even with ntpd
Scenario: server PC abruptly switched off due to power cable problems
(an UPS cannot solve this issue), so during shutdown Linux was not
able to resinchronize the system clock. After a few hours the server
come back on, Linux booted and the services (ntpd, dovecot and many
others) started
But the system clock was 45 minutes ahead, so:

Time Clock Stops in FreeBSD 9.0 guest running under ESXi 5.0
I've now seen this on two different VMs on two different ESXi servers
(Xeon based hosts but different hardware otherwise and at different
facilities):
Everything runs fine for weeks then (seemingly) suddenly/randomly the
clock STOPS. In the first case I saw a jump backwards of about 15
minutes (and then a 'freeze' of the clock). The second time just 'time

Reverse DNS
Hi,
We have some issue with the reverse DNS in Samba AD. We're running Bind9_DLZ on Ubuntu 18.04. The DHCP server(Ubuntu 16.04) is different to the AD server and not in the same AD domain. The DHCP scope points to the Samba AD server as the DNS server
When a machine with DHCP assigned address tries to update the DNS record, it is able to update the forward zone but not the reverse zone. The
