unknown/unavailable method for expanding the ntfs filesystem
Hello,everyone
I ran virt-resize(v1.30.4) on my CentOS 7.1 to resize win2008r2 and got the warning message (virt-resize: warning: unknown/unavailable method for expanding the ntfs
filesystem on /dev/sda2):
>/usr/local/libguestfs-1.30.4/run virt-resize --expand /dev/sda2 /images/win2008_src.raw /dev/vg0/win2008_resize_dst

[PATCH] appliance: add/remove some packages for Arch Linux
Added:
- cdrtools: added as alternative to cdrkit
- multipath-tools: contains kpartx (in AUR)
Removed:
- ntfsprogs: the package is no longer available, it has been completely
replaced by ntfs-3g (already in packagelist.in)
- zfs-fuse: no longer in AUR

Considering CentOS 7, at least, doesn't include ntfsprogs, the
installation of CentOS can't support shrink or discovery of Windows in
order to create a GRUB menu entry for it. That tools exist the user
can make this work after installation is not at all what I'd consider
"supported".

This won't work. In RHEL you need to have libguestfs-winsupport.

[PATCH 0/5] Various fixes for virt-make-fs.
The main one is that it now estimates btrfs overhead more accurately,
allowing it to construct btrfs images. See:

[PATCH 1/2] daemon: lvm: use 'yes' as boolean for lvm2
It looks like older versions of lvm2 (recent enough to have selectors)
do not recognize '1' (and '0') as boolean values. Switch to 'yes',
which seems to be supported.
Updates commit 7367945647e774aec4b93c3bf13181212d3c6430.

I tend to disagree with that advice...
I would recommend http://gparted.org/livecd.php over the microsoft-supplied
tools, in a heartbeat.
Boot off that Live image on a CD or thumbdrive (or use the version of

On Centos 7, the NTFS filesystem is not installed by default. Make sure
you have ntfs-3g and ntfsprogs both installed. You'll need to configure
the epel repo before you can install them.

[PATCH] Add waitpid along guestfs_close path (RHBZ#518747)
Not quite sure what happened to the waitpid()s which were along that
path, but at some point they seem to have got deleted. This is a fix
for:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518747
I haven't been able to run the tests yet however, because currently
Rawhide is broken (ntfsprogs has missing dependencies).
