samba domeinlogon
Hi,
I'm using Unix now for the last 2 years, so I'm learning everyday new
things. Now I'm trying to configure Samba 2.2.5 (on Freebsd 4.4) so that
w2k machines can logon to the domain.
I added several users to smbpasswd (which are real users on the server. I
would like to have "virtual users" which don't have a real account but
that's an other problem)

More than one logon script, can I have?
Hi,
RH7.3, Samba 2.2.8a, Win2KSP4 clients...
I was just wondering,
I know I can have a logon script based on a machine name, on a group, a
username, etc., but am I able to actually have a combination of the
above?
I would like to have a standard group logon script (which I currently do
have), but I would also like an extra script to run if they log on to
particular machines under my domain...

Problems saving large ppt-files to samba server
Hello,
We have problems with saving large ppt-files (>20MB) from a NTClient Sp5
to the Samba server (2.0.4b on Solaris 7). During save procedure the
client hangs, some time later the client displays an error messages like
"Error during saving into buffer" and the application is killed.
In the log file of the client on the samba server you see the error
message:

password server = %M
...believe that for the machines that are configured this way
(and I trust the admins), it would be feasible to have Samba set the
password server as the NT machine that the person is coming from. That
is, in the global section:
password server = %M
Then in each share...
hosts allow = @ntclients
I (possibly foolishly) trust the NT clients for file access about as much
as I trust the Unix (through NFS) clients to provide an accurate username
or UID.
Is there something horribly broken with this idea (that is, does it open up
holes bigger than NFS)? Is this feasible without modification to...
