Login denied after joinined Samba PDC - Fixed?
...problem, but, for
the record, whenever I have the following lines under my [global]
section in smb.conf, I am unable to log into the domain with the afore
mentioned error. As soon as I comment out these two lines and restart
samba everything seems to work just fine (so far...)
valid users = root @ntadm
write list = root @ntadm
I'm not sure if then this is a bug, or just something that should be
avoided. Experienced this problem with 2.2.7 and 2.2.8 redhat rpms from
samba.org

Cups printers troubles

Then... I have another server I want to configure as my CUPS backup
printing server. This PC is running RH 7.2, samba 2.2.3a, and CUPS
1.1.14. I've installed all printers exactly the same as on the primary
CUPS server. The problem I am haiving is that samba is having trouble

Domain Admins don't have enough privileges
Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a couple users (not root) who would be in Domain
Admins group, and would have the permissions to add machine to domain.
I can confirm that locally (I used sudo without password) as any of
the users of ntadm group, and each and everyone of them can add a user
to the passwd file.
They are also local admins on NT/200X/XP machines when they log in on
windows side, but neither of them can add a machine to domain via the
windows GUI.
The only user that can do that is the user root.

Problems with access to share after upgrading to 3.0.23(a)

Access to directory in which share resides denied to "world", so
only members of group "domain" can access this share:

Problem with Domain Administrator rights in samba 3.0.2
...rator so I can run audits, remote patch updates, reg hacks etc. I
have followed the instructions but have I have no domain rights with 'Domain
Admins' but i do have domain rights with 'Admin Users'.
Heres my set-up.
Any help would be great.
I setup a administrators group called ntadm,
ntadmin:*:250:pmg,administrator,root
And I have mapped the goup to samba...
