Samba4 CIFS proxy: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Hello,
I'm trying to use the cifs proxy vfs module in Samba4. I can join the
domain seemingly without problem. When trying to access the proxy
server (and hence its share) I get NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS.
My setup is as follows:
root@proxy# ./setup/provision --realm=<realm> --domain=<domain>
--adminpass=<adminpass> \
--server-role='member server'
root@proxy# <edit smb.conf to add share(s)>

2) "could not find idmap alloc module adex"; idmap module is installed at /usr/lib/samba/idmap/adex.so, ad.so is in the same folder.

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS errors sporadically occurring
Hi there
I have samba-3.0.27a rolled out over a large number of servers, and
every once in a while one of them will start failing to allow people to
connect, with winbind reporting NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS, and
ntlm_auth failing with "NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS: No logon servers".
The same problem occurred with earlier versions too.
I think I've tracked down the cause of the problem as being "our fault",
but Samba really isn't handling it well. We have a 10.* network,...

3.0.24 (Ubuntu). The problem we're having is trying to connect to the
Win 2k3 server from the samba 3.0.24 client, via smbfs. During
troubleshooting I've started using smbclient to try and diagnose the
problem, and most of the time I get this error:
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
And rarely we get

From the client I've tried "smbclient -L DOMAIN_SERVER -U%", which
returns browseable shares. Running "smbclient -L WIN2K3SERVER -U%" gives me

There isn't communication problems between the PDCs and the domain

that is to say, my winbindd client is similar to ntlm_auth, but with high performance.
when I test it under large traffic, most of the time they all work well. and the transaction per second can reach more than 900.
but sometimes, winbindd will return NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS.

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Every few weeks users are not able to logon anymore until i restart the
winbind daemon. The message in winbind.log is NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS.
after that PAM (system-auth --> pam_succeed_if.so) is not able to resolve
the active directory groups anymore. The quick fix is to create a new
situation in our monitoring tool to restart the daemon if this message
appears in the log. Is this a known problem?

because everything else works, wbinfo, getent. I can login to Win2K server

because you are using sssd are removed, your [global] part should look
like this:

PDC disconnected until restart (NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVER - or so)
...he workstations (Win9x, NT4/SP6a, Win2000/SP3) complain about the PDC not being there and refuse to logon users (naturally). The only workstation that's still able to see and connect to the PDC is the one that's on the same broadcast domain. An smbclient -L CLIENT -U username then yields an NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVER (or so) error. A simple /etc/init.d/samba/restart gets every workstation back on the domain until the next time.
Our setup is as follows: About 15 workstations are on five different subnets. Four of them connect via an ISDN router to the fifth. This 'backbone' has a bandwidth of 64K for e...

Can't setup shares on domain member server samba4
...ba shares don't work. In fact, when I browse (from windows 7
domain member) to the host (lserver), it just times out. Similarly, when I

I've gone in circles adding nmb, windbind, changing smb.conf options, etc.
After 3 days I'm pulling my hair out. My exact same configuration works
fine on Centos 6. I've included some output from a samba log showing the
smbclient failure.
I would appreciate any help! Not...
