nt_status_logon_failure with samba 3.23c
...username/password, which i know
is good because i use it to access shares from an xp box. This works fine, i
can mount the share as my normal user using smbclient.
I checked my logs and for the time i try to connect using the ghost boot
disk i'm seeing a session setup failed message with an
nt_status_logon_failed message. I'm also seeing a possibly related message
about not being able to pull in the browse lists on my server.
I'm not using ldap or any database authentication,
i'm using security = user passwd backend of tdbsam.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.

NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE fedora 10 with latest samba
...nesses
read only = no[/CODE]
I have added a user via
smbpasswd -a Admin
smbpasswd -e Admin
then I enter
smbclient //kiska/Admin
it then ask's
enter root's password:
I have imputed just about every password known to that computer an I still
get the message:
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILED
I put in the Admin password and the root's password and neither work. I keep
getting that message no matter what I do. I even tried the user password and
not the SMB password. I tried "cat /dev/nul > /etc/samba/smbpasswd" and that
made no difference either.
any Ideas?

Can see Linux box, but no shares from windows
...box from windows. Its listed, its
there.
I try to explore it, but I cannot. There is no share. Windows gives me the
curious error that a duplicate name exists on the network and I should
rename it.
On the linux side, when I try to do a smbclient -L myhostname I am now
getting what I beleive said NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILED... It had worked properly
before. I am not sure what I could of changed to cause this.
All I am looking to do it set up a very basic share at this point.
Can anyone suggest to me a very basic smb.conf so I can compare with mine?
Or even provide me any tips? I think I am going to start from scrat...

Samba 2.2.4 on Redhat Linux 7.2 - Domain Auth Question
Hi all,
I'am trying to set up my Samba server to use DOMAIN auth. I followed
the instructions in the "security = domain in Samba 2.x" and had good
results. Used this command to join the domain "smbpasswd -j DOM -r DOMPDC
-UAdministrator%password" and I got the result "smbpasswd: Joined domain
DOM."
I added the entries into the configuration file to complete
