Win98 can't login to NT

have used samba before, but I now have a problem.
Some (and only some) of the windows 98 clients can no longer log into the NT
domain controller. They get the same message as if the passwd/username was
wrong.
Here is a snip from my config file:
os level=00
password server=nt_box
domain master=no
local master=no
Now, I would assume that the setup above would do everything to ensure that
the clients look toward the NT box no matter what, because the 00 would
ensure that the samba server would never become the browser master.

NT test of smbmount
...lient? If so, can you get in? I can't Net View

My setup: redhat 4.2 (kernel 2.0.30) and samba 1.9.18p8, with OSR2
and NT4SP3 clients. I can smbclient both NT and win95 boxes, but
"Net View NT_box" (from win95) and "smbclient -L NT_box" both fail
(but browsing both samba and NT from win95 works fine).
I can "smbmount //win95/share /mnt/smb01" just fine, but the same
command on the NT box requires the username switch (presumably
because the samba hostname is diffe...
