ntp_signd/socket multiple samba dcs on a single box
Hello,
I have multiple samba DC for different domains running on a single box.
I read a little bit up on time synchronisation and now configured it. It
seems to work. My question is, what happens when multiple DCs go to the
same ntp_signd/socket, will it work? Or should I configure one socket
per DC instance?
Cheers,
Thomas

I would use distinct containers or VMs for this, as otherwise you also
can't use nss_winbindd for each domain. However if you must, then you
would have to set up multiple ntpd instances bound to each IP and
pointing to the correct Samba.
Finally, in general I suggest avoiding 'neat hacks' because while it is
amazing to create a special snowfake, it is also delicate and more
likely...

Solaris NSS/winbind problem - large groups
Hello All,
It seems that 'getent group groupname' hangs on large groups for Solaris 8/9
running winbind. Currently running Samba 3.0.20 but also tried 3.0.10.
'ls -l' also hangs if listing a file created by a user who's primary group
is too large(such as Domain Users). Users can still access the files but
netbackups hang.
The problem I am experiencing is found in the

Trust relationship and LDAP backend
Hi,
I have a domain using LDAP backend, and recently we've managed to establish
a trust relation with another domain in our network, which uses a pure NT4
server. After that, some accounts from the trusted domain started being
created in our base. The user created doesn't have the same attributes as a
valid user (he doesn't have sambaSamAccount, for example). But for auditing

Multiple Domains/Winbinds, ntlm_auth/wbinfo issue
Ok I'm at a loss, I have 2 instances on winbindd / smbdd / nmbdd running (basically copied to install from samba-multiple-domains.blogspot .com but with my domains and ip's)
But the issue I have is that even though both domains joined, and I can see all the winbinds and smbs running, and no errors in the logs, it appears that wbinfo / ntlm_auth only work with one of the units, no matter

Invalid request size nsswitch/winbindd
Hello list
I've seen there is a discussion about this error
Dec 19 10:30:00 antares winbindd[90393]: [2007/12/19 10:30:00, 0]
nsswitch/winbindd.c:request_len_recv(544)
Dec 19 10:30:00 antares winbindd[90393]: request_len_recv: Invalid request
size received: 2084 (expected 2088)
but the suggested remedy of sttoping and starting samba granting all
winbindd processes died doesn't work
