nspluginwrapper failure on x86_64 in 5.2
This was working in 5.1 - I am now getting errors when I try to run a
flash video in seamonkey under CetnOS 5.2. Here is the error:
For application/x-shockwave-flash found plugin /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so

Here is what I have installed:

These are now part of the base, but there seems to be a problem with
finding the right plugin to execute:

nspluginwrapper
As the subject of nspluginwrapper came up recently, it might
be worth mentioning that it's not properly documented.
The README seems to be the official nspluginwrapper README, which, oddly
enough, states that it's used with the command
nspluginwrapper
However, RedHat based systems seem to all use mozilla-config-plugin....

Firfox plugins but no sound
Hello everyone,
I run a 64bit system here and install flash plugins for firefox using
nspluginwrapper. I get the movies but there is no sound.
Flashplayer is: flash-plugin-9.0.48.0-release.i386.rpm
nspluginwrappers are: nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm
nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm
Any help in tracking this down would be great. Thnx.

I don't think you need it anymore with FF 3.6.

Missing NSPluginWrapper.in ReleaseNotes for 5.2
Hello,
I just searched the wiki for info about NSPluginWrapper. It's a plugin
for Firefox which creates a kind of bridge between i386-plugins and a
x86_64 browser. That aside...
Well, looking for the string "NSPluginWrapper" and doing a text-search,
the only hit is the Japanese version of the Release Notes!? I don't

nspluginwrapper included in CentOS 5.2 fails completely
...build process, I was never able to build a 64-bit
version of the 1.x releases, but I had no trouble running the L&G
not-yet-released revision, with occasional glitches from the bugs that
I ran into (and reported).
But, back to the point:
There are two major issues I have with the 5.2 bundled nspluginwrapper:
1) The nspluginwrapper program itself is gone, which makes it a little
(lot) harder to manage and troubleshoot the problems.
and, more importantly:
2) None of the 32-bit plugins that are supposed to be wrapped work. Period.
Is this something I should report in bugzilla, at CentOS (and

gecko-libs dependency resurfaces
In doing an update of centos 5.2 this morning, I observed that the old
gecko-libs dependency issue caused yum update to fail because it was
required by nspluginwrapper (x64_86), devhelp, yelm and firefox. Also, a
firefox (x64_86) showed the red hat splash screen rather than centos.
Manual installation of affected rpms using --nodeps (I don't advise this) did
not apear to impair the performance of any of the affected packages.
Is everyone seeing this...

Difficulties with Seamonkey plugins on 5.2
...d didn't work right
and the official 32-bit release crashed all the time), and it's been
working relatively well until recently, particularly in the area of
plugins.
After updating to CentOS 5.2, I noticed that the flash plugin didn't
work right. This might be due to a major change in nspluginwrapper -
it is now included in the CentOS (RHEL) release, as opposed to being a
download from rpmforge.
Problem is - it doesn't seem to work right. My flash plugin does not
work. At all.
There was a new official release of Seamonkey (1.1.10) with an
available contributed 64-bit build (haven'...

Good things about CentOS 5; problem with flash in seamonkey
...importantly, how to get it OFF the main menu.
Anyway, I reinstalled Seamonkey 1.1.1, and it landed flawlessly,
although I had to look to find the x86_64 version. It came without
any plugins, as usual, but I have tried reinstalling the flash player
plugin, and it just won't work, not even with nspluginwrapper
installed. Is there some trick to this that I need to know (and
what?)?
Thanks.

flash and konqueror
I am stuck taking this stupid online training course from work. It just
sits there doing nothing with firefox, so I pulled up konqueror, and tell
it to lie and say it's IE. That works... until it gets to the content,
which some HR moron is *positive* desperately needs to be in flash.
I've gone into konqi's configuration, and told it to scan the correct
directory for plugins, and yet

flash player on seamonkey 1.0.9 x86_64 centos 4.5
I downoaded flash9 for linux.
Installed it:
ls /usr/lib64/mozilla-seamonkey-1.0.9/plugins/
flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so libnullplugin.so
However seamonkey is not doing flash yet.
Does it not work in 64 bit? Did I miss something?
Anyone else have flash going on amd64?
I thought you put the files in the above directory and restart.
Didn't work for me.

No sound from Adobe flash player 9.0.31 on CentOS 4.4 x86_64
I have the Adobe (Macromedia) flash player installed on my CentOS 4.4 x86_64
system, but when I try to play a flash movie in SeaMonkey (or Firefox -
doesn't matter) I get no sound. I'm using the nspluginwrapper 0.9.91.4 to
make it work at all, but there's no sound.
All my other sound devices/players work just fine, even my Windows guest on
VMWare Server.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Firefox 2
Hello.
I use Centos 4.4 x86_64 with firefox 1.5.0.10 64 bits with nspluginwrapper and runs reasonable well.
I would like know if there is rpm packages for firefox 2.0.0.2 or 2.0.0.3 and if will run well under Centos x86_64 if someone has tried.
Thanks
