R-dvel [robustness Simulation study of 2 sample test on several combination of factors ]
...is because that i have to consider the outer loop and inner loop also... so the iterative for i need to minus one because it have ran one times simulation already ,then times the number of sizes of inner loop, then plus the iterative of j.... then for the simulation, i think there will be ((ss-1)*nsds +sim) for the index in the body of for loop... Is it correct? Sent from my phone On Jim Lemon <drjimlemon at gmail.com>, Apr 6, 2016 6:52 PM wrote: You are running through two loops and putting the output into a vector. gpfs + sernet samba + ctdb + transparent failover confusion
Hi all, We're running gpfs 3.5.0.12 (5 total nsds & quorum servers, 2 nsds running samba), sernet-samba 4.1.4-7, and ctdb 1.0.114.7-1 and trying to get transparent failover to work from a windows 8 client. We have ctdb failover working, i.e. if I run mmshutdown on one of the nodes the IPs failover in a few seconds after the GPFS mount is unmou...

...beros client/KDC services). Samba strives to be a "drop in replacement" for a native Windows DC and file server, including naming (browser) and authentication. But you do _not_ have to use Windows-centric naming or authentication. You can build a network where you either are UNIX/Linux NsDS/OpenLDAP "tree'd" with or without Kerberos, possibly authenticating against native MS ADS DCs or even Samba emulating ADS DCs, or maybe using pGINA on the clients, or you can even have a completely segmented NsDS/OpenLDAP tree/network from native MS ADS network, and use some synchroni...

Re: Fix passwd/shadow/group files? -- Samba 3.0 v. ADS v. CIFS
...ew, open source Kerberos 5 servers. If they hadn't, then Samba 3.0 would not be able to act as either a member server in a MS ADS network, or emultate a MS Kerberos KDC without one. This has *0* to do with Samba. There are thousands upon thousands of enterprises running with Novell eDirectory, NsDS, Sun One, etc.. using their own management suite for Windows clients. In many cases, a few are vastly more experienced, featured and superior IMHO. I think what you're looking for is an experience where all the interfaces and schema are emulated to you can run any Microsoft management tools, t...

Fix passwd/shadow/group files?
I've been copying old passwd/shadow/group files from system to system for ages across different distributions/updates and would like to get them back in sync with each other so the system tools will work. Now they hang like: #userdel irose hangs forever, syslog says: Jul 12 11:19:32 newftp userdel[30335]: delete user `irose' Jul 12 11:19:32 newftp userdel[30335]: delete `irose'

SMB server with CentOS 4
Hi, I need to set up a small server for a group of ~10 employees (all using Windows 2000/XP, used to use a windows 2000/exchange setup). I have a linux server already running CentOS 4, so I'd like to do all I can with this. I thought about using Samba for file/print sharing and OpenXchange (commercial version) to have a nice collaborative/mail/calendar/etc server. Of course, it would

IBM GPFS filesystem
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone might be able to speak about using IBM's GPFS filesystem as a means of storing virtual guests in a clustered environment with CentOS as the nodes and KVM as the hypervisor? I'm looking at using IBM's TSM software for archiving data from disk to tape. This requires buying a license for GPFS which is used in conjunction with TSM but can also be used
