RE: Newbee question (hot phone numbers)
...equires hot phone numbers. These hot phone # should not be connected to physical phones but rather to a database entry from where the physical phone(s) is(are) retrieved. Users should be able to modify (securely) their own database record. I'm currently trying to understand Bluetooth and the Norwood Bluetooth initiative. http://www.norwoodsystems.com For now, it seems to me that hot phone # is simpler than Norwood. With Bluetooth wireless headsets you only have a 10 meters wireless range. So when you walk around in your office, you have to connect dynamically to another wireless bluetooth hub...

Bursty writes - why?
I have a 24 x 1TB system being used as an NFS file server. Seagate SAS disks connected via an LSI 9211-8i SAS controller, disk layout 2 x 11 disk RAIDZ2 + 2 spares. I am using 2 x DDR Drive X1s as the ZIL. When we write anything to it, the writes are always very bursty like this: ool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0 xpool

Inadequate error checking in rsync 2.5.5
I'm using rsync to mirror files from a Windows XP machine mounted via smbfs. Apparently I have something configured wrong as I get a "permisson denied" error accessing some of the files on the smbfs mount with cp, od, etc. However, rsync produces no error messages on these files. It happily creates files in the target directory that are the right size, but filled with null bytes.

Hi, I''m about to start a Masters research project which will use Xen. As such I''m trying to get it to work on my laptop (IBM T40). I''ve built Xen 2.0.1 from the source tarball using the default .config file for the 2.6.9 kernel. I''m using Suse 9.1 as the distribution on top. When I boot Xen, It seems to boot the Xen hypervisitor ok, then starts booting

SSD partitioned into multiple L2ARC read cache
What would the performance impact be of splitting up a 64 GB SSD into four partitions of 16 GB each versus having the entire SSD dedicated to each pool? Scenario A: 2 TB Mirror w/ 16 GB read cache partition 2 TB Mirror w/ 16 GB read cache partition 2 TB Mirror w/ 16 GB read cache partition 2 TB Mirror w/ 16 GB read cache partition versus Scenario B: 2 TB Mirror w/ 64 GB read cache SSD 2 TB
