Linux 2.6.31, samba server no longer working
...nothing about any attempted or
failed connections. Both smbd and nmbd are still running, so they
didn't crash. I just can't find anything to help me diagnose the
problem.
Can anyone give me some suggestions about where to start looking for
the cause of the trouble?
Thanks!

CIFS slow on gigabit, doesn't support sockopt=TCP_NODELAY ?
...ually, you can use "-o sockopt=TCP_NODELAY",
and you can also put that into /etc/fstab. Either way, the option
appears to be ignored.
I filed this bug with Gentoo: http://bugs.gentoo.org/265183
Am I doing this wrong? Is there a work-around? Or plans to fix it?
Thanks!

Problems with xen: what do you need in the bug report
Hi everybody,
I have some issues with the xen package as distributed in etch. I have
tried posting on the xensource lists as well as debian-user without any
success. So before filling a bug report, I would like to know what
exactly do you need in the bug report.
The problem: I am using etch on a dual athlon 4G of ram. I am trying to
setup dom0 and domu with the package xen-3.0.3 and the right

Adventures in building libguestfs on non-x86 architectures for Debian
Hi,
things are progressing slowly, but I feel that eventually I'll be
getting there: supermin can be built on all Linux-based architectures
that are part of Debian/unstable[1] -- (except for sparc, but I'll
ignore that for now.) libguestfs on the other hand currently fails
launching the appliance (necessary for running tests) on everything but
x86 and mips.
Apparently, qemu-system-arm

Yager on ZFS
Not sure if it''s been posted yet, my email is currently down...
http://weblog.infoworld.com/yager/archives/2007/10/suns_zfs_is_clo.html
Interesting piece. This is the second post from Yager that shows
solaris in a pretty good light. I particularly like his closing
comment:
"If you haven''t checked out ZFS yet, do, because it will eventually
become ubiquitously implemented
