Parameters of exponential power density
Hello!
I must estimate the parameters of a exponential power density. There is the
normalp package, but this works only for a shape parameter bigger than 1.
But what should i do if the shape parameter is less than 1? (Sorry for my
english)
Thank you very much for help!

packages for power law distribution
...n-bottom: 0.08in; }
Dear All,
I will appreciate some
suggestions of R packages for "ESTIMATION OF THE EXPONENT OF
POWER-LAW FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTIONS". I have been searching at
the R-help list several keywords for this subject and I did not find
a very specific package, except the useful normalp package. I
believe there are others but I was not able to identify it. I have
interest in the exponent of power-law distribution of some events
(only frequency) and "not" bivariate relationships between
two variable. Specifically I am looking for packages that has
functions of "pa...

: Lp norm estimation
Hi all
Just wondering whether one can undertake Lp norm estimation (a type of
regression analysis) in R?
i.e.
argmin S ( | y(i) - x(i)b | ^p )
where:
* S is the summation over observation i= 1,2,...,n
* y is a vector of n observations
* x is an n by p matrix of explanatory variables
* b is a p by 1 vector of beta coefficients and
* p is a constant to be estimated such that

extension of rnormp package
Hello,
I would like to ask You, how to generate random numbers from an exponential power family with a shape parameter p less than 1(p->0). I found the rnormp package, which can generate numbers from this distribution, but only for parameter less or equal 1.

Kolmogorow-Smirnow-Test to check if Data comes from Subbotin distribution
Hi,
I have a Data Set x and I want to check with a Kolmogorow-Smirnow-Test, if x comes from a Subbotin Distribution, whose density function is:
function(x,location,scale,tail) # Exponential power (=Subbotin)
{
const<- 2*scale*tail^(1/tail) *gamma(1+1/tail)
z<- (x-location)/scale
exp(-1/tail*abs(z)^tail)/const
}
How can i do this? Thank you
