nmbd in redhat 8.0
If I enable wins support = yes & I start smbd it starts smb & nmb. When I
restart the service it says that there is no nmb service at 10045 running.
When I do a ps -aux, you can still see the service running. They will
keep building up until I manually delete them. Does anyone know how to
fix this?

samba 2.2.2 help!
...roblems between client machines. They seem to only
exist with the samba server. Any ideas please???? My client is getting a
little frustrated.
I also seem to be having problems with Quickbooks and ACT databases on
the samba server. I have similar problems with these files as listed
above.

login as a service to win2k & domain user manager
...ains tool, but that tool does not work yet in full
with samba.
Secondly, how can I add a Domain User to the Local Win2k client
computer's Power Users Group??? Again, I see how to do that at each
machine locally. Is there a way to implement this network-wide?
Thanks in advance....

win2k dropping network connection to samba
Hello,
I have a client that has a RedHat 8 box with samba 2.2.7 running as a
basic file server. They have two win98 computers and 1 w2k pc. They have
no problems accessing the files on the server from the win98 pc's but
the win2k pc keeps dropping the connection... I would normally say... ok
its some hardware problem with the win2k box... BUT if i copy files to
and from shares on the win98 pc's it works fine... and if I copy files
FROM the samba server it works fine... it only drops the connection when
writing to the server... If i'm copying a file to the server...

major database problems!!
Please help!
I'm currently running samba 2.2.2 on a redhat 7.1 computer. I'm having
major database problems with any database that I try to store on my
samba server. The programs are quickbooks, act, and access. Basically,
all of my index files keep getting really hosed. I have to repair and
rebuild files everyday. This is bad especially since this client is a
recent convert from NT to

login as a service
Hello,
I have a samba PDC ver 2.2.7 with a large number of win2k client
machines. I'm trying to install sophos antivirus to autoupdate all the
client machines. The software requires a domain login on the PDC (easy)
but the problem is that it needs to be able to login in to the client
machines as a service. Is this possible with a samba PDC????
thanks,
Jason
