New to list, got a quota question
...S uid, 503 AS gid FROM vpopmail WHERE pw_name = '%n' AND pw_domain = '%d' My vpopmail installation keeps the quota information in the mysql database (pw_shell field) instead of maildirsize. The quota is in maildir format, e.g. 400M or 50331648S. Unlimited quota is specified as NOQUOTA. The question is... Is it possible to make dovecot understand this format and get it directly from SQL (via user_query, for example) or would it be easier to reconfigure the vpopmail installation somehow to use maildirsize? Thanks! Vlad

Override quota rules based on mail's content
Hi, I've a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot, using a LDAP backend to get the users. I've also configure quota rules, and I'm able to get the quota from LDAP. But I need the mails that come from the local domain to bypass the quota rule and be delivered to the users' inbox. Is there any way to do that? Information required by Dovecot's mailing list rules: +++ dovecot.conf

vpopmail/mysql/quota
Hi All, I'm new to the list and have a quota question. I am building a new server with dovecot/qmail/vpopmail/mysql and emails are sending and recieving fine when the quota is set to NOQUOTA, but when the quota is changed qmail doesn't deliver any messages. I have read the docs and still need some help understanding the process for dovecot quotas relating to the vpopmail mysql database they are stored in. Thanks for your help. Quota Support
...er the 2.6.7 kernels. I read something about potential deadlock issues/crashes with quotas on Ext3. How stable is the curent quota support (specifically on 2.6 kernels) ? Another thing, in the man page for mount, it says that "These options are accepted but ignored" for "grpquota / noquota / quota / usrquota" options under ext2. What does this signify ? Any resources/pointers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ash __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! vpopmail quota
Hi, I'd like the vpopmail user database to return the quota settings for users, instead of having to rely on the validity of the maildirsize files. It doesn't look like this is currently possible. Would simply adding a auth_stream_reply_add call for "quota" with a suitable value in vpopmail_lookup be sufficient to make this work? (the quota can be read from the pw_shell

...We support read-only maildirs and out-of-quota conditions are handled a lot better. dovecot-uidlist file still isn't out-of-quota-safe though, but you can keep it in another location where quota isn't checked. For example: default_mail_env = Maildir:~/Maildir: INDEX=/noquota/%u:CONTROL=/noquota/%u + Read-only mboxes are supported now. + Only NOOP and CHECK now always do a mailbox sync checking. Other commands sync max. once in 5 seconds, plus always from indexes. This should reduce I/O a bit. + All NUL characters are translated to ascii #128 before sending to...

doveadm quota get doesn't recalculate quota (Maildir backend)
...+ specification there is this part: ...If maildirsize does not exist, or if its size is at least 5120 bytes, recalculate it using the procedure defined above, and use the recalculated numbers... One seemingly legitimate reason for maildirsize to be missing is when vpopmail mailbox is set to NOQUOTA (i.e. no limits). My workaround to this is to use a fallback quota: quota_rule = ?:messages=10000000 That is, if there's no backend limit detected (missing maildirsize) then fallback to 10 mln message count quota. In this case doveadm quota get _does_ recalculate usage and even creates ma...
