CentOS 6 and android connectivity (Nook)
So, I got my wife a Nook for her b'day. I just plugged it into my system,
CentOS 6.5, and what I see is /media/NOOK, and it shows 257k or so - yes,
k, not m or g. It's *not* seeing any directories, etc, and the small thing
I'm guessing is firmware, since even when I try mount -o remount -rw, it
is still r/o.
Googling, I see mentions of fsmtp, I think it was, and yum shows some mtp

[HELP] Mongrel Needs a Patch Maven
Hey folks,
I''m falling behind in my Mongrel duties and seriously need to recruit an enterprising individual to take on the patch queue and help push out a new release with some minor fixes. The goal would be to just get patches that are currently languishing, pull them together, put them in the source, write some tests to try them, and then one slight design change.
If this works out

If you install the VLC app on the iPad you can probably skip the
transcoding and also having to add the video to iTunes first. You'll only
need to transcode the audio if it uses AC3, which is proprietary and the

CentOSPlus Kernel for 586?
I have the problem that I almost never throw anything away that can
still be useful. In itself, not bad. Combined with the "World We Live
In" (TM), a "Less Than Optimal Behavior" (SM).
I need some of the features in CentOSPlus kernels for my 586 (K6-III).
1) I don't mind doing it myself and contributing results, if that's what
it takes. Only having LFS experience (rpm

e-pub or downloadable xhtml of the manuals?
http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/
This document has provided more information to me than I can adequately
express, and as masochistic as it sounds, I'd kinda like to pop a copy
on my nook and devour it. along with any of the other docs hosted on
the samba website. has anyone prepared epubs of the documentation? if
not epubs, than at least xhtml files in a zip

Release tags in SVN?
Hi,
Im just wondering what strategy I should use for checking out from
your repo. I''ve seen posts here announcing BackrounDRb 1.0 RC 2, 1.0
but I don''t see any tags in the repo for these releases - I only see
two old tags (release-0.2.0 & release-0.2.1). I''m assuming the HEAD
code might be a bit unstable at times so should I use timestamps for
checking

Appetite for eliminating dependency on Perl
Preamble: I am in no way opposed to Perl in general - I love Perl and
probably always will.
R currently has Perl as both a build-time and run-time dependency. This
adds about 200 Mb, give or take, to the required environment size (as
measured in CentOS - looks like it might be a bit smaller in Ubuntu?).
Not such a huge deal, really, but the actual benefit R gets from the
dependency is quite

drive type not sticking in advanced configuration WIN 1.3.14
Hi all,
I am trying to get a Nook Color working on my Ubuntu installation, but am having a problem.
The drive is mounted as F: and the path is /media/MyNOOKColor
I run the Wine Configuration program and select Advanced Configuration so I can change Auto detect to Floppy Disk. Then click the Apply button. Here's where I've run into problems.
I should be able to plug the USB cable in and

Rip Blu-ray to Transformer Prime-Mac Blu-ray to Transformer
There are many people complaining that tablet PCs perform not so satisfactory when they are used to play videos. Actually, at first, tablet PC is developed as a mobile small PC that offers more convenient experience for being taken outside. So, it is not a professional media player that can fit all your playing requirements. And we should figure out that tablet PCs can playback most of videos

command-line: AIFF writer advice
How about the opposite?
What I would like to see is FLAC support in libaudiofile, so
applications written with libaudiofile could transparently take
advantage on FLAC's compression. Ironically I guess it would still make
sense to use libaudiofile in FLAC for getting input. Mmmm, cyclic
dependancies...
Or is that just a stupid idea?

Un peu d'aide
Bonjour,
variance=1.
